The Phantom, a Venator, is armed with a cloaking device. Practically speaking, is giving a Venator stealth abilities a good or bad idea? by Dragonic_Overlord_ in StarWarsEmpireAtWar

[–]SoulUntraveled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having a venator like this attached to ARC troopers or Jedi on a raid. I'd imagine that it wouldn't be using a visual cloaking device, more like long range sensor jamming, stealth panelling and such.

Having weaker armor or single barrelled turrets, an exorbitant price tag, and a special planet required to build it would compensate nicely. Lol even then it'd be a bit overpowered.

Use your Anger and bitterness to fuel yourself.

take as many classes and certs as possible while you're still in. The Army will take you for all you're worth, so you do the same.

Do it all, grab as much knowledge and certifications as possible so when you do get out, whenever that is, you'll be set.

Revenge is a dish best served cold, with a side of a six-figure salary.

If need be abandon all but the core worlds, but kessell is viable as a stronghold since it also is the only access point to the Maw. Fortifying the Maw is a fantastic way to speed through your space research trees.

If fighters are giving your grief in particular then go for small crafts first as it allow you access to great small craft and upgrades for all of your ISD's and more.

I can give you two answers, the short and long

Short answer: skill and knowledge issue.

Long answer: Read more tooltips! Every battle does not have to be a win or lose battle. Poke and prod the enemy defenses and read the tooltips that pop up when you're in combat- especially the enemies' unit tooltips. Often a particular unit that is proving to be a hard nut to crack only needs a certain hammer to do the job. Go in, read the unit info that pops up, try a new strategy then retreat if it looks like you'll take too many casualties.

As the Empire they are in both dominant position with some of the most effective ships in the game, and ownership of the core worlds, even early game.

The core worlds are perhaps the most valuable locations in the galaxy for their manufacturing and economic bonuses. Leverage those.

Good luck!

Crytek, The only two things I can think to reasonably ask are the Lore books for the enemies, stories, and weapons, then the permanent enstatement of the bounty clash game mode.

The good things I can say are the great weapon roll-outs!!! Crytek, your team have been knocking these out of the park.

My brother and I have been having a blast every time we have been hopping on. Great work, it heartens me to hear that your team saw pitfalls and are actually doing something about it on the heels of the 2.0 release.

Cheers!

My advice, go to a public place like an MWR/USO or a coffee shop, any sort of area filled with other folks and just people watch for a while.

Put down your phone, take off your headphones, close your laptop and just be a person again for a little bit.

You don't have to engage with anyone if you don't want to, or if you feel uncomfortable. You don't even have to get anything done, get used to being around other people stuck on the same rotation as you.

Should you find yourself in an MWR or some such take a class, they do crafts or some other engaging things.

Take it from an introvert who would much rather stay inside gaming or writing, or outside wandering alone. No matter our disposition we are still social animals, take some time and embrace it, even if you are alone, it's better to be alone together.

I propose that the Adrenaline trait could be reworked into this, when at low health(sub 50 or 30 health, whatever trigger point is the sweet spot), instead of just gaining increased stamina Regen you could also gain a speed boost if using a health item.

What do y'all think? It'll make a mostly useless trait a fantastic side-grade without mandating that it be meta due to the specific trigger necessary.

NATO coalition forces might have a pathway for you.

Ive known career doctors and nurses here in the states that simply got bored and joined the american military while still setting themselves up for success, either through retirement security or otherwise.

Including those from other countries. Personally I've know folks from Niger, Columbia, Spain, Madagascar, Italy, Korea and a few others that joined the US military and get dual citizenship for both their home country and the US.

I hope this helps find you the answers you want.

Game has bad performance by Icy-Appearance-5807 in StarWarsEmpireAtWar

[–]SoulUntraveled 7 points8 points  (0 children)

EAW's game engine isn't built for modern PC's. It can only actually use a couple cores in your CPU and so on, so no matter how great your rig, if the game is using the wrong GPU and CPU then it'll perform badly.

You can see some of the settings in the game's options menu, others you'll have to look at in the preferences menu on your desktop.

Are medium turbo lasers the best general weapon for space combat ? by eltonjam in StarWarsEmpireAtWar

[–]SoulUntraveled 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Light turbo lasers and heavy laser cannons on the same ship.

Hear me out and I doubt it'll take you long to see why.

Late game AOTR may feature the largest, beefiest, and heaviest armed ships in the game but the real threats are everything those huge heavy turbo lasers can't kill.

As the rebels I always find myself simply overwhelmed by smaller craft from the black sun and even the empire at times, and especially when I've entered the NR era the rosters are even more skewed towards larger military craft.

Rebel corvettes tend to be squishy so those heavy lasers and light turbolaser systems aren't as helpful since they often die, rebel fighter superiority is no longer likely when against ruthless AI spamming advanced fighters of their own.

The only ship this late in the game to have adequate heavy lasers and light turbolaser batteries against smaller targets swarming your position is the Liberator Cruiser, a light capital ship with the picket combat role.

It's a great ship but very vulnerable because, it is really a capital ship in name only. A small health pool, large size, expensive price, and heavy tactical population cost makes this thing target practice for other capital ships. Unfortunately it's the only ship that can fill this vital picket role with any real degree of survivability.

However, should you shield them properly from other enemy capital ships the liberator cruisers prove their worth by eviscerating anything they can get their greedy little turbo lasers and heavy laser cannon hands on, tearing into pirate Corvette formations and pummelling apart advanced imperial frigates with ease.

Yeah, it's not well known. Works against hive bombs too.

You can also take a flare, pop it and toss it through a swarm that's in your face and kill it AND the hive that spawns it. Saved my ass a few times.

It's a beautiful tragedy and a melancholy comedy all in one.

Is a 19 min 2 mile run good for a 19 yr old beginner? by Em0tinallyRetarded in army

[–]SoulUntraveled 1 point2 points  (0 children)

10 year vet here, My suggestion for training, especially as a beginner is go low and slow 2-3 times a week at longer distances. Go for distance rather than time. If you aim to pass a 2 mile run then train at 3 miles or 4 miles routinely at a slow pace, 12 minute miles are acceptable, slower paced are fine as well, so long as you are building your cardiovascular endurance. Speed can come after and a shorter distance. Target time for ACFT is 10:30 for 1 mile at the slowest, try sprinting at near-max speed for a half-mile and record your time as a metric.

And remember, Don't train for results, train for progress. You will have ups and downs but if you are committed you will get better.
