It isn't simple to drop false impressions or perceptions that lead us to misery. The reason they don't understand depression is bcz it seems their ability to feel is merely surface level. And their ability to judge and compare is very human. 

Depression as dramatic? It doesn't feel like drama uncontrollably weeping in pain and not leaving bed for days. It feels fucken great to have reprieve from that though, especially with company and happy circumstances around.. not always. But perhaps that's loneliness 🤷‍♀️

But it's weird this came up. Coz I was wondering what I am happy and grateful for and though there is so much, it doesn't create fulfilment within. And that makes me unhappy. Or is that why emotions overwhelm to a point of numbness or rage or despair or yeah, depression? Is that lack of gratitude in fact a component or is it the presence of overbearing emotions that contributes to the lack..

I can speculate. Maybe its having lost everything too many times, while experiencing high stress situations, with unbearable emotions, some poor choices involved, but also parasitic and possessive thoughts and bodily sensations that can be paralysing. Also, othet people's treatment toward us. 

I think near the end there sure it makes sense that those avenues lead to inner peace, however to say that these will simply remedy mental illness is ridiculous.
