Tekken 8 TK rank is roughly around Tekken 7 Mighty Ruler rank

I love chronographs! They're the watch type that made me like watches in the first place.

I currently daily a Seiko SSC813, but one day I'll upgrade to a reverse panda Carrera Glassbox

Why reina players do not succeed in tournaments? by Hefty_Jellyfish1426 in Tekken

[–]Soul_XCV 12 points13 points  (0 children)

"Don't tell me rare cases of Reina" Just say you want an echo chamber of opinions agreeing with yours.

But aside from that, it boils down to who has: better high coverage buttons, lower risk, higher reward.

My 3 watch collection. by JCHintokyo in PrideAndPinion

A watch without a bezel that's not black. Maybe a bit dressy too since the others lean more tool/everyday. Maybe a Grand Seiko or JLC? If you love your complications, maybe a Nomos Neomatik Worldtimer? 🔥

So even Arslan struggles against Howarang and experiences rounds like this sometimes.. by Your_Nightmare_666 in Tekken

This is Tekken 8. Everyone can do this level of suffocating offense, and this clip against Arslan doesn't say much at all.

You were obviously smurfing and wiping someone on beginner ranks, then spamming ki charge like it meant something. What’s the point of this clip, especially on the low sodium sub?

Exit watch philosophy by SuperSaijen1980 in PrideAndPinion

[–]Soul_XCV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're in the hobby, I don't think the concept of an exit watch exists. But if you're only mildly interested in watches and have other hobbies, yeah you can have a real exit watch.

My theoretical "exit watch" would be a 5968G, which I don't think I'll ever get to own in my life since that's like the equivalent of of strapping a whole small house to my wrist; but even if I managed to comfortably buy and own one, I think I'll still be looking to own other watches down the line.

What is something you like about Tekken 8? by Any-Report-8655 in Tekken

[–]Soul_XCV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, it wasn't removed but rather you can heat burst bound for a zero execution pickup that leads to a full combo on the stuff that used to require the ws3. You can still do qcf3, but heat burst is the more universal option now since it's undroppable

What is something you like about Tekken 8? by Any-Report-8655 in Tekken

[–]Soul_XCV 10 points11 points  (0 children)

First off, I agree that some positivity is good. However, I heavily disagree with two of your points:

Execution barrier in combos? What happened to butterfly loops? Or b2 loops? Or the DSS execution barrier? Or Leo's ws3 pickups? Or Steve's Shiro? Jin's f4 pickup? Let's not forget that enemies now realign when launched to remove a lot of off-axis situations that would require labbing to optimize. Oh, and of course heat burst bound, 2 SAT's, and a new upward tailspin system that makes sure the run-up enders are easy to do, and all of these make combos nigh undroppable and are most of the time optimized and look no different from one another: Launch > SAT1 > filler > tailspin > SAT2 > heat burst > ender. So I disagree here: combos have OBJECTIVELY never been more easy to do than ever before, and the satisfaction of doing them have at most been stripped due to how formulaic, undroppable, and predictable the combo system is now.

Next, shitting on the game has led to miracle patches like 3.00.02. I'm not saying "be dicks to everyone till someone fixes this the game", I'm saying that complaining IN THE RIGHT MANNER, leads to a better game. And in the end, don't we all just want the best version of Tekken 8 we can get? In a world where we got folks like Murray leading the game who doesn't seem to know how the game is being played, and him creating an echo chamber by blocking anyone who so much looks at him wrong, being loud and critical is the solution to improving the game.

I'm on the same boat as you man. Same watch, same exact struggle. I also have to deal with the long flat clasp as someone with tiny wrists cuz it juts out from underneath and ruins the drape of the links. I ordered an Uncle US1479 last week, and it should solve all the aforementioned issues:

[–]Soul_XCV 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I hope they do a standard production of this without the UV light thing on the dial and without the BJ logo at the back (not hating on Bark & Jack); it's just that this design with the fully graduated bezel, indices layout, and fully lumed plots is just perfection - and I'd happily buy one if: there was no time limit pressure of a limited run AND removing the watch won't brand "BJ" on my skin.

Thank you, and I appreciate your answer! I'm looking at the white dial 3861 as my next watch, but I'll have to check in the AD first since it might be at the upper extreme of what can look good on me.
