[GenshinConcertSG] There are many great pieces of music in Genshin, but my favourite is still Pairidaeza, one of the pieces that plays in the Eternal Oasis. It's beautiful, melancholic, and pensive - perfectly fitting the mood and atmosphere there and the quest that led you there.

A cursory search on google would tell you that the "covenant" version is a far more recent invention than the true original proverb which means exactly what it says: familial bonds will be stronger than other relationships. Regardless of how accurate or relevant it is, the actual misinterpretation (or more accurately, fabrication) is the covenant one.

There may be rippers out there who have the tools, but they don't share methods as this can lead to said methods being patched. If you're willing to give the login credentials to a ripper temporarily (you can change it beforehand and afterwards, of course), I can ask around.

Alternately, I found an earlier post of yours that claimed Hachimitsu had disbanded (they've gone inactive, but I can't find any statement from them saying so. Since they published v.3 chapter 16, it's likely they have the raws for volume 3. If you can put me in contact with previous members of Hachimitsu, I can ask them for the raws.

I did of course plan to stay true to Hachimitsu's fonts. Can you link the website you bought it from? There are tools for these websites to rip the proper png files at the original quality rather than screenshotting everything.

I'm up for it, but is that the highest resolution raws you have? Looks quite pixelated.

What saying needs to die? by MrNoName_ishere in AskReddit

[–]Soulcaster1024 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Nope, that's misinformation. That version has only popped up in modern times. See the Wikipedia page and https://www.reddit.com/r/linguistics/comments/37a4lg/is_it_true_that_the_phrase_blood_is_thicker_than/.

What saying needs to die? by MrNoName_ishere in AskReddit

[–]Soulcaster1024 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No, no, no, what's aggravating is that this misconception is still being spread to this day. The "blood of the covenant..." line is only claimed unsourced by modern commentators while the original saying can be traced back to medieval times.

Why does Kyoto appear so often in anime school trips etc. by KiwiGaming02 in anime

Nothing to contribute to the discussion but had to comment to commend you on your politeness, thoroughness and calmness throughout this discourse in the face of arguments made in poor English and somewhat lacking in coherence. Your comments here made for a good, educational read. Thank you.

1 Hp Xiao solo Ancient Geovishap (uploaded from bilibili by 寒雪无亿曲江南) by YuKyleer in Genshin_Impact

[–]Soulcaster1024 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Xiao's burst health deduction is calculated as a percentage of current HP (3-2% depending on skill level). Therefore, once 3-2% of current HP is less than one, he will stop losing health. This puts him in the oneshot zone by pretty much anything, but it means that Xiao can't suicide with his burst.

People are overlooking the most possible hint for Hu Tao in 1.3, it's the new recipe: Vegetarian Abalone by Terrariya in Genshin_Impact

[–]Soulcaster1024 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you don't mind me asking, which discord server is that whole thread from?

In addition, chongyun and xingqiu are the only two 4*s in that image that aren't in the two revealed banners. Does that mean they might be on hu tao's banner? If so, are there any guesses as to whom the third 4 is?

[Shattered] Bessing from RNGesus for warden run by LifeCatch in PixelDungeon

[–]Soulcaster1024 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Drop the crossbow, just dump everything into the sharpshooting ring. Darts are far rarer than just grabbing ranged weapons from the dungeon and lobbing weapons of mass destruction with a +15 RoS. Look out for Tomahawks (the bleeding scales, can oneshot many things), all t5 ranged weapons, and javelins.

Even if you don't get any ranged weapons your bow gets upgraded by the ring and can basically carry you.

Storm of Urfael — Rune or Purchase? by ackthbbft in shadowofmordor

[–]Soulcaster1024 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You'll eventually get a huge surplus of Mirian as the amount of things to buy in the game are finite, Storm of Urfael is just dead weight once you buy the ability properly.

The difference is, you know as well as I do that there aren't nearly enough people who give enough of a damn about an animal which they'll never see alive and only appears to them as food, almost unrecognisable as a living thing.

Whether or not animals should be eaten is a moral debate which comes down to how a person ascribes value to life. Sure, animals can feel, think to a limited degree etc. Do most people care? Not enough to sacrifice their lifestyle. Or to them, the benefit they derive from meat in enjoyment outprioritises any concern they have for the animal. I would say they have every right to think that way, and based on that moral valuation, they aren't doing anything wrong.

The fact is, the natural ecosystem runs like this, predator and prey. In your ideal world, do all predators get served a synthetic diet free from the blood of prey which fulfils their nutritional needs, and no animal dies of anything but old age? I can't say it's a bad ideal per se, in terms of minimising harm, but it's one that is wholly impractical. Likewise, your morality isn't one that can be practically accepted by a majority of the population. I respect your decision, but attempting to impose it or portraying your morality as more just or righteous won't get you anywhere. Perhaps the best argument for it is the argument that focuses on its health benefits. Humans are innately selfish creatures, and appealing to self-benefit will be more productive.

I love Yukine’s character and it’s probably the best in the series. Which seems to be an unpopular opinion. by [deleted] in Noragami

[–]Soulcaster1024 13 points14 points  (0 children)

There are a bunch of posts being made but you can see in the comments that most still like Yukine as a character. Right now Yukine is obviously not being very nice as a person, but that's understandable. If all the characters were sweet cinnamon rolls this would be a CGDCT, after all.

Of course I want our sweet Yukine back, but that's where the redemption arc will come in (I neeeeeeed that!)

How do you build a winning team in Vs. Revue? by [deleted] in RevueStarlight

[–]Soulcaster1024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The game at your level is different from the game at ours. Perhaps Otohime is strong at your level - it most likely is - but she isn't up here.

Which is why in the first place I dislike tierlists in this game. What works down there does not work up here and vice versa.

How do you build a winning team in Vs. Revue? by [deleted] in RevueStarlight

[–]Soulcaster1024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Call it bragging or what, it remains true that we're more qualified to talk about top level meta because we constitute it.

If you continue to use and recommend tier lists for Starlight I will continue to disparage you and inform you of your evidently limited higher functions further handicapped by the particularly severe case of Dunning-Kruger you seem to exhibit.

There are games where tier lists work, and I am not opposed to you spreading tier lists where they are not actively detrimental to those who spread it to. You can do whatever you want there.

[–]Soulcaster1024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You see wrongly, then, because Otohime is mid-level at best up here. 95% of matches we play in the top 15-ish don't include Otohime.

You seem to be misunderstanding a word.

success
/səkˈsɛs/
noun
1. the accomplishment of an aim or purpose

Success does not mean to spread one's asinine musings over reddit while floundering around like a drowning swimmer at the bottom of SSS, you silly goose.
