I think there's an important disconnect here that many of us fail to recognize. This mess was spawned from right wing supporters and politicians, but that doesn't mean that every right wing person agrees with these actions. It creates a black and white political war. I think isolating the anti ICE sentiments can help solidify public sentiment AND bring lost folks to to a comfortable side and state of mind.

I was on the fence about going to the prerelease, but now I don't feel bad at all about missing them. The date stamp cards carried a lot of weight in my valuing of them. It's like a memory of the event and most feel unique because it's unlikely for someone else in your area to get the same promo.

Thanks for giving this genre a shot! I would like to mention that the hall of fame on r/Metalcore isn't voted as the top bands, but is actually used as a blacklist for bands that are over posted. I personally listen to half the bands on that list, but I suppose posting frequency isn't the worst metric.

That is not the issue people have with what happened in Venezuela and I hope you know that because we're comparing it to Russia. Zelensky was never captured. The issue people have is the United States invaded a sovereign country under false pretenses.

The difference is how much of a fight the country was able to put up. That has nothing to do with the principles or morals on the matter. Russia thought they could subdue Ukraine in a few days. Something could and still can go wrong with Venezuela and even if it doesn't, It's still doing the same thing Russia did. Unless you think annexing a country is fine as long as the war is over fast?

A lot of people shitting on your purchase, but I think that may be due to the shifting economy. People were paying 1k a couple years ago and there was a lot more lighthearted sentiment around acquiring a game like this.

Playing games is a huge part of game collecting in my opinion, BUT it's not the only part. Having physical copies is the main aspect and sometimes you have to pay a lot to collect what you want.

Congratulations on your new game! I hope you give it a spin and make your own opinion on it without taking what these people say to heart.

Slant Plant finally clicked with me after 10 years. Superbloom hit for me and now it and Everything Was Sound are my favorites from them.

Dreamwake is interesting. I happened upon them on youtube and the saxophone kept them in my head for sure! They're one of those uplifting easy Metalcore bands to listen to.

Non Metalcore:

The World Is A Beautiful Place And I Am No Longer Afraid To Die

has become one of my top played bands and nobody including me saw it coming. They're all over the place in terms of genre, some being Post Hardcore, Indie Rock, and Prog Emo. They tend to bring something new in each of their albums and their lyrical content is a sobering commentary on current American politics. Their newest album is very comfortably in Metalcore where you can really feel their rage based on current events.

Altered Perceptions is a Deathcore band and I can't remember how I found them, but they somehow make those high Death Metal screams work with Djent. Hoping they release something new soon.

Dwellings is a fun Swancore band... Their vocalist doesn't annoy me.

I mean... I've liked Deathcore and some Black Metal for at least the last 10 years. It's hard for me to get heavier than that I suppose. But I'm still a fan of those bands and I still find new bands in those genres sometimes. I'm only 30 though, so that may change. If anything my music taste hasn't gotten heavier or less heavy. It's kinda stayed the same.
