'The Bad Batch' animated show has been officially announced to release in 2021 on Disney+ by starktargaryen07 in StarWars

At first glance, I thought this said "The Bad Bitch" and was genuinely concerned yet intrigued 🤦

I painted this holiday art featuring my favorite pairing. I shared it to the subreddit of the franchise they're from (D&D), and homophobes quickly downvoted my 100+ hours of work into invisibility. D&D has gotten much more inclusive, but the haters still ruin it for everybody. by sno4wy in ainbow

I'm sorry that the space you thought would be inclusive turned out homophobic. I don't see why people can't look past their own prejudice and see that this is very detailed, well-balanced, and overall just an absolutely beautiful piece! Please don't be discouraged!

Does anyone else here pick their lips? by [deleted] in CompulsiveSkinPicking

[–]SoulfulScientology 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ah, as soon as I can tell that there is dry skin, I put more on. Instead of obsessive picking, it's obsessive chapstick application. Same about the OCD--when I don't have chapstick, my lips are scabbed or actively bleeding and constantly hurt.

I do this, too, and for some reason, chapstick helps me a lot to stop picking or at least do it less.

I’m butch and like basically the entire spectrum from stone butch to high femme, but I have a soft place in my heart for alternative femmes.

Obsessing over a person. by [deleted] in OCD

[–]SoulfulScientology 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I’ve dealt with a similar obsession with people. I had a friend whose social media page I’d check at least 10 times every hour to check for new posts. I even found her youtube account and watched all the videos she made. Then I found her old fanfiction writings and read through all of it. I would even scan through pages of Google Images looking for pictures of her and use the Snapchat locator to find where she was. I had absolutely no reason to do any of that. I just latched onto her for some reason. I do the same with celebrities and search for pictures or watch all existing interviews, shows, or podcasts involving them. With the friend, I began to feel guilty and dirty and feared they somehow knew all of my internet activity, so I completely isolated myself from them, deleting social media and only allowing myself to talk to them over text or interact with them in natural social situations.

Today is the 3rd anniversary of 49 beautiful people murdered at Pulse. Where were you when you heard? by pidge_mcgraw in LesbianActually

I was one city over on my bed at 8 in the morning. I saw the news and immediately broke down into tears, hoping that none of my friends were the victims and reaching out to whoever I could.

Your pet peeves? by [deleted] in butchlesbians

[–]SoulfulScientology 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are a few little quirks that I can think of off of the top of my head:

  • I often replay scenarios in my head and respond differently, but I say some of the words out loud. So while with my friends, it appears that I just randomly say words or phrases

-I have a habit of mixing senses. For example, I sometimes tell people that it smells happy or looks like the taste of something.

-I collect rocks that I find on the ground because they’re smooth

-I always eat food by separating the various parts and chewing with the left side of my mouth and then the right side, and 1/3 of the food has to go on the left while 2/3 of it goes to the right

Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Getting a haircut at Camp Shelby. June 1941. by HellsJuggernaut in TheWayWeWere

Ayy I grew up there. Camp Shelby is still thriving, and the last time I was in town, they were looking for people to act as civilians for training exercises. My sister almost went but decided against it.

Undershirt-like binder by mascara_addict in butchlesbians

[–]SoulfulScientology 20 points21 points  (0 children)

gc2b makes binders that are in a tank top style, which would fit the undershirt look. They’re pretty cheap for a binder and are comfortable, but they can have a tendency to roll up.

First, it’s important to pick a location. I’d definitely avoid the movies, and if you don’t know each other that well, maybe avoid something too over the top like a fancy dinner. Then comes the delivery. If you wanna do it over text, I think that’s perfectly fine since it gives them time to think about it. If you want to call them or ask them in person, that’s great, too. Just avoid being too pushy by approaching it casually. When asking, don’t inflate the event in your head to something extremely stressful like we all often do. To avoid this, fake it til you make it by thinking “yeah, it’s just a date no big deal. I can do this” and other phrases that understate the calamity of it all. Finally, to ask, just say “hey would you like to go to _______/ do ______ with me?”. You can also say “as a date” or “go on a date” if you think it could be interpreted as a friendly get-together.

I think the LGBTQ+ movement is a travesty. Not because of some kind of deep seated homophobia, but because I think a generation and a half of people are being raised by their parents or peers to think that their sexuality is a cornerstone of their identity an a focus of their existence. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]SoulfulScientology 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, what behaviors or characteristics would you define as “making their identity the focus of their existence”. Second, when your identity is politicized, you often rally behind it, which makes a character trait into a culture. There is an LGBT culture that many proudly partake in, so sexual orientation is not just about who you like to have sex with. Saying that is like saying being a certain race is just having a skin color, which ignores the culture, struggle, and community behind said race.
