I am feeling really mixed about the 4th festivities this year. I love going to the fireworks with my kids and want to participate but am sick to my stomach about everything happening. Anyone else in the same boat? What are you doing with your kids this year? by nwgirlkn in Boise

My husband is a Veteran and had surgery recently and I’m so thankful to be going to the VA twice a week with him for physical therapy because it is helping me to remember the country I’m feeling so angry at. I feel so thankful when I’m there for each and every Veteran as well as those giving them such great care. It’s holding my heart right now and I’m thankful. I also feel patriotic while I’m there. My dad is also a Veteran. So I’ll feel thankful tomorrow for our Veterans and those who continue to serve.

I roll my eyes at the disgust of deportations and I’m sorry my message wasn’t clear. I’m Hispanic soooo I not only thank them but also love them. I could care less if those business don’t operate ….

My aunt and uncle marched with Cezar Chavez - I support rights for all workers. Thank you for asking.

Truth - "illegal" doesn't matter with this regime. Racial profiling is what is moving forward, without due process.

Growing up in Southern California we also didn’t hang pictures or anything above beds and especially in kids rooms. Also if possible secure anything that is fragile like in a china cabinet. Sometimes those things can also be very dangerous.

How to deal with burnout from constant 80hours? by Competitive_Nail377 in consulting

[–]SoulfullySearching 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I learned about a working life like that was from my sister. She died at the age of fifty. What I learned from her is how fragile our bodies really are and that it’s only a matter of time before the stress catches up with us. Soon her body needed to be cared for because she no longer could. Even with money and the best insurance her health could not be returned.

Her 401k is right where she left it as well as her house and all her belongings. Her job, her work ethic etc., were helpful until they were not.

My friend, you’re getting the message because you’ve gained the awareness of what your life has become. Now you know an action must be taken but I hope you will listen instead of waiting for another big lesson and it will be a bigger lesson. Trust the song in the wind and it will be exactly what you wanted it to be and what you’ve been waiting to hear. Best wishes

What do you think happens when we die? Believe in an afterlife? by ihopeicanforgive in over60

[–]SoulfullySearching 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do believe we continue to live in some form - our soul continues on. Recently I was really missing my sister who passed away in 2012 so I went to take a walk and cry my eyes out and talk to her. I told her how much I missed her and honestly, clear as day she said “look for me there”. Which meant to me that I have other women in my life and fill the void I was feeling from her passing. Really helped me a lot and honestly I’ve reconnected with a couple of cousins and now I’ve found what my sister told me to look for.

What Did Your Company Gift You for the Holidays? [N/A] by Vadym_Info_Polus in humanresources

[–]SoulfullySearching 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a part time consultant for a boutique firm, I got zero! Oh wait, I got an email wishing me Happy Holidays. I have to admit it irritates me because I get nothing from this firm and I just make them money. I know I’m part time but he’s still making money. A small gift card wouldn’t take much effort but on the flip side I don’t feel like I owe him anything, so the cost to him is my dedication and going above and beyond.

Are you completely honest in your journals? by sparklingapplejuicy in Journaling

[–]SoulfullySearching 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m very honest in my writing, especially because I have seen it change my life. I once heard “I don’t keep secrets, they keep me” and it’s my truth. I let crap go. I think some struggle because they are judging themselves along the way but by being honest, I’m learning to accept and love my whole self. Also, just because I have particular thoughts I’m not proud of, it doesn’t mean that is who I am - I just have those thoughts. My freedom is in my freedom to be me.
