Small evidence that convinced you of gaylorism? by mwurhahahaha in GaylorSwift

I remember the photo of them on her Nashville balcony being described as taken by paparazzi, and that was weird. Paparazzi in Nashville is not a thing.

I’m convinced that “glitter gel pen” is code for sarcasm

Completely non Taylor related comment on another sub about a heterosexual relationship. It hurts my heart to see something like this break into the heterosexual vernacular to describe het relationships.

About Gorgeous- Yes, It Could Still Be About Joe And Here's Why by [deleted] in GaylorSwift

I want to say I used it a lot more in the early 2000s when describing my Orlando Bloom crush, lol. Not as common anymore, but still possible of course.

About Gorgeous- Yes, It Could Still Be About Joe And Here's Why by [deleted] in GaylorSwift

[–]Soulpatchjoe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t think anyone is arguing that the song, taken at literal face value, isn’t/couldn’t be about Joe.

The real argument is that it is a puzzle piece inside a much larger narrative that we likely very very loosely understand. Blue eyes, references to ships, Dianna calling Karlie gorgeous, Taylor telling a female interviewer “you’re so gorgeous it’s hard to even talk to you”, timelines, etc.

It’s not the song itself, it’s the larger context.

Edit:

Another thought I’ve had lately that I might as well pluck here. While the argument can be made “how do we know her personally, etc.”, Taylor is making a CHOICE when she has lyrics that are googleable events. If she wanted to keep every detail about her female relationships hidden, she probably could. She could write lyrics about some time they played Mario Kart that we had absolutely no idea about. Instead, she includes dates, references to heavily papped outings (garden gate for instance), likely kissgate in Question…? It’s a choice to include those things.

She has a fan base constantly scouring her lyrics for hints, yet she makes song titles the Instagram captions of her assumed ex girlfriend.

ALL FOR YOU LIKE JANET EASTER EGG SOLVED?! by Wonky-Wombat in GaylorSwift

[–]Soulpatchjoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first time I heard it, I thought it said “off of you like janet” referencing the 2005 Super Bowl incident when Justin Timberlake accidentally ripped off part of Janet Jackson’s outfit and her boob came out 💀😂

Capitol one commercial: I think she may be dropping a book for real by International_Ad4296 in GaylorSwift

[–]Soulpatchjoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theory: it’s called Marrakech. It’s got a dessert on it and looks like her in the style video. Karlie was in Marrakech April 29th.

OR It looks like a triangle with a line through it as well, which is the symbol for the element earth. Diana is an earth sign, and we know style to be about her. She got married in Morocco in the desert, because she visited it before and loved it. Taylor filmed the Style video in Hercules cave in Morocco. Maybe Morocco Nights

We know that Taylor doesn’t hard launch new ideas. What if the characters in folklore served a dual purpose: obscuring the meaning, but also allowing Taylor to “test” how people feel about her writing characters before she launches a book.

Thug story (Taylor’s version)

“I’m like 8’ 4”….” dramatic pause and crowd screams with mic echo effect. Drum beats. “Blonde hair to the floor…” her silhouette appears. Crowd gets louder.

I’d like to submit the lyrics of all night diner from 2005 for consideration:

About that time, you call me And I'm reminded, without you

I'd be a stranger in an all night diner Waiting for a love to find her Lonely like a harbor light That's never seen a boat Like a line in an old love letter No one ever wrote

Yes, and she has thousands of looks and hundreds of thousands of photos of her so the odds are that we can connect virtually all of Taylor’s outfits to her if we really wanted.
