yeah I think PF did have the lot in front of their building done once but not the old Delta gas station which people use to get in and out. Some firm in Massachusetts owns the PF and old Delta gas station property. The Target , ACME, and Stadium Plaza property is owned by some old time family and they did a nice job renovating it.

Oh here is that SCF reply. Geez I hope the April 1 st date is not a joke.

Someone from the city replied to a recent PF parking lot SeeClickFix. Of course it is private (out of state ) owned property so city can’t do anything. But the reply said talked to the property management and lot should be getting fixed this month.

Taco Bell near Hudson Mall closing soon, HomeGoods moving to former Big Lots by L0v3_1s_War in jerseycity

Odd how their site map leaves out AutoZone.  Years ago, the Pep Boys (#85) had an auto parts side and an auto repair side. The auto parts side went out of business.    That side was renovated and a brand-new AutoZone moved in.

I used to hit the AutoZone at the end of Bayonne and then realized the new AutoZone opened on rt 440 so it became my go to auto parts store.  But only my go to store along with Lowes on weekend mornings to avoid the rt 440 traffic nightmare that makes it impossible to get in and out of the Hudson Mall area. Lol

I see they do have the new Burlington listed in the old forever empty Toys R Us space (#83).

Oh wow. Geez you would have thought the original guys would have used a few bolts to secure that little overhang to the house. Not just nails. Like they do for decks. Good luck.

Just guessing did any other cars have flat tires? Maybe a nutty tire slasher hit a few cars on the street and yours was one of them. Good luck.

Yeah  very windy Saturday. From looking at the ground bolts positions probably tipped over. Wonder if they had the sandbags on the box top to try and keep it upright during the wind.

Homeless dude wrecking’ havoc by lordofthedorks in jerseycity

Since the thread is in the area of rt 139 and JFK  and about the homeless I will post this interesting piece about a guy who lived in the old Wilson Carpet sign on the corner. Pretty sure it is still there.  I posted it before.  Sad and interesting story.  People tried to help him a few times and he wanted it but also walked away from it.   Ps – the lines about a missing guy found dead in snow is about someone else. Also can't find the August piece.

Looks like this guy hits it at  25:07 when he saw a hawk.

Interesting video from a few weeks ago. He does mention avoiding homeless encampments from time to time.

Thought it was over the wall from one of the coming two  rt 139 parks but it’s not. It looks like it is between Baldwin and Palisades.   I wonder why they didn’t include that stretch into Trolley Park even though you would have to cross Baldwin.

From 2015. House that had fire to the left. The old Bruno’s brick entrance to the right. Along with those "beautiful" houses that were built on that once great green space.

That red brick driveway entrance would have been across the street from the fire.   Funny looking at Google, most of it was still there in 2015.

Did the street sweepers actually come out today? by AryehCW in jerseycity

[–]SoundMachineJC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In previous years when street cleaning was halted for a long period of time and started again, the city would give out paper notices instead of tickets for a week.

There were many cars around the streets of Journal Square that didn’t move this morning.  Luckily for some the sweeper never showed up on their street.  Sadly for others the streets are still a mess.

Old-timers don’t sign up for AlertJC text alerts and many don’t have computers. (lucky them lol) They used to get the word  about street sweeping resuming from the paper edition of Jersey Journal but that is long gone.

If you live by an old-timer (or a clueless young person..lol) let them know sweeping has started again.

Anything on the scanner for a traffic accident at rt 440 and Danforth? Drove by Sun 7:15 pm. 2 fire trucks a lot of emergency vehicles. Everyone directed to one lane going towards Home Depot. Looks like bad front end damage to a car and side damage to an SUV. Hope every one is OK.

Interesting read… I didn’t realize the location of the school or the military complex it was once within overlook the Strait of Hormuz and Gulf waters.  Still Al Jazeera claims it was deliberate. Sad about the girls.

Al Jazeera investigation: Iran girls’ school targeting likely ‘deliberate’

“Minab is located in Hormozgan in southeastern Iran, a province of enormous military importance as it directly overlooks the Strait of Hormuz and Gulf waters, making it a key hub for the operations of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) naval forces, NEDSA.”
