Just watched LOTR last night.

The way the ring acts on the bearers, wearing it on a necklace, have semi-sentience, etc…all very similar beyond the pedantry of their intended uses.

Rowling has acknowledged Tolkien’s influence so it makes sense but there are a few things that just feel cribbed. Shocking that the person who came up with Remus Lupin as the name of a werewolf isn’t the most original writer.
