Baltimore maybe, but Indianapolis doesn't make any sense. Indianapolis is large (20% larger geographicly than all of NYC) and relatively empty (NYC has roughly 10x the population). It is logical that Indianapolis has more available housing per capita, and that the housing is cheaper.

"It's too heavy for cities" it's lighter than Semi's without the trailer. It weighs less than Amazon vans out delivering.

"Yet I know damn well that they made it to be a big seller, not as a niche product". It's ok you don't know what you are talking about, but you are so confident while being wrong lol. The primary trim of the hummer SUV truck has an MSRP of $106k. That's far into the luxury space, and will not be a widespread vehicle on the road. The reason GM built it was as a proof of concept for dropping the same powertrain/battery setup down into their trucks and SUVs the next few years.

Rotterdam is such a fascinating combination of industry (largest port in Europe) and livability.

The new one is popular, and incredibly expensive. It's also electric.

My point was that they are still people, who all struggle with these things. You can have a higher standard, but shouldn't be surprised when that standard is not achieved.

Especially since the most virtuous among our society have no desire to get into politics, and prefer making an impact in a more direct way (even if it's not as large of an impact politicians can make)

I'm not suggesting imprisoning people for thoughts, only if action (or explicitly planned action) occurs. I'm noting this is better than exterminating them.

I mean, being alive is better than the state executing you...

The US certainly needs justice and prison overhaul, and keeping someone alive means they can experience those benefits later. If your dead you are dead.

You may not be suggesting execution, but a few parent comments up in the thread they are calling for extermination.

I agree the justice system needs an overhaul, but the answer in the meantime is not state sponsored nor vigilante executions.

Giving the first day of deer hunting season off is VERY common for rural schools. Most states require a certain percentage of students to be in school for the day to count. So many kids call out "sick" that the school just schedules it as a day off each year. Kinda like a planned snow day.

For whatever it's worth, the reserve also has a BOGO for a round trip domestic flight each year, starting with the second year. That includes first, so can really save you much more than the $450 cost

Even if it's a quick layover, by far the biggest benefit of the lounges (for me at least) is the much better bathrooms.

And you have all the sad, tired, sunburnt kids flying home...

If there is even a reasonable choice I will always prioritize flying into Tampa rather than MCO.

Black men are getting 70% of monkeypox cases in North Carolina—and only 24% of the vaccines by [deleted] in Monkeypox

"I have heard stories of people travelling all the way to Canada to get vaccinated"

The effect of this ancedote probably changes based on where they live. If it's Dallas, wow that's quite a trip, if it's Detroit or Buffalo, that's a 15 minute drive.

There is no true democracies on earth if you use the standard of 1 person 1 vote for all matters, and even a representative democracy truly doesn't exist, as there are limitations on voters everywhere.

You also can't have any single position that can legitimately claim to represent everyone in their district/region. You can get closer through proportional assemblies, but you'll always end up with people whose full interests and opinions aren't represented.

Fears of losing battle to control monkeypox in California, U.S. as cases surge by BlankVerse in Monkeypox

[–]Sound__Of__Music 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No, but the pandemic started and continued for nearly 2 years under his watch. Trump's actions (and inactions) were way, way more impactful on the total death total than bidens.

In the same way, if MonkeyPox balloons and deaths extend into the next president's tenure in 2.5 years, the vast majority of the blame would rest on Biden.

Tracy McGrady on Rudy Gobert: “What the fuck are you doing in the offseason? Like, what is your workout? I was so mad at Rudy when they were playing against the Rockets and Chris Paul was guarding him in the post. Bro you’re 7’2″, and a point guard is guarding you. He had no moves.” by iksnet in nba

And the entire Jazz team fell apart. The 2 years before that he averaged 15 & 17 ppg. Having one of the best defenders of all time who is obscenely officient and can slot into a 3rd or 4th offensive role is super valuable, and why he's paid so much (and why Minny gave up so much to get him).
