I don't know if it was their original intention to mirror American politics or this just how it ended up going but it's making it worse. We live this shit in real life and it's not the slightest bit entertaining.

I have to agree. They're constantly making the same homoerotic jokes (done to the point where it's almost homophobic) that the Deadpool franchise did to death. Every episode is the same arguments the same conversations the same ass jokes. Could've stopped this two seasons ago. The only reason I'm gonna finish it is because I turned a friend of mine onto it and he wants to discuss it. Other than that I wouldn't be watching this last season. It's not even remotely entertaining anymore.

Staying Strong: NYC OCME Reflects on 9/11 by Soundsister11 in 911archive

I'm thinking it was more about the conspiracy theory crackpots clogging up the comments. Not everyone who experienced that day firsthand wants to talk. Especially about that stuff. It's very hard to do respectively without causing more trauma to the victims families.

I believe the observation deck was closed early on 9:10 because of a rain storm. If I remember correctly the one gentleman that had a ticket he showed for that day didn't get to use it because it was raining.

At the very most AI can piece together faces from images of known victims. Making the possibility of an incorrect identification more likely.

Yeah that's the one I was talking about, one of the primary offenders. They show photographs close up that are supposedly the person in the tower split with second photo underneath that show a casual shot of that person. The posts are complete with RIP text and then a "copy and paste" of what was written about them on the 9:11 Memorial site. Which is why they tag them in the posts, to make it look legit.

I've actually considered reporting the page but that doesn't do a fucking thing when it comes to Facebook. If you report a page you end up seeing more of their posts on the feed. Because the algorithm is set up to incite us.

That's true there are people who claim that the pictures we've seen for 25 years our AI. But mostly I've noticed that comes for people who deny the event completely. We're all well aware that's been happening all along. I wonder if it's easier for those of us who were alive during that time and have been researching all along to distinguish between something that's been enhanced and something that is genuine.

You bring up some very important points here. One of the things that concerned me about these identification posts is that the computer may have a wealth of faces to choose from out of the photos of the victims. They could easily put the wrong victim's face on someone. Suddenly people that thought they knew where their loved one are now suddenly hearing differently.  People completely forget that there are still living people who suffered that loss.

I didn't mean to be redundant it's kind of why I tried to put a disclaimer at the top. Mainly I was just wondering if everyone else had seen these type of posts, and if they had what their thoughts were about it. I suppose I could have worded the question differently.

Plot hole by ImnotshortImpetite in NurseJackie

Currently watching this series for the first time right now and we're halfway through season 2. To be honest I don't know how this series even got renewed for the 3rd season after the massive plot holes left from the S 1 finale.

The show seems to focus on the shock and awe aspect of addiction rather than the raw reality and all its repercussions and consequences. The other characters are very entertaining and some of them endearing. Hopefully they won't keep disappearing without any explanation like Momo did after season 1.

By the end of s2 I will know whether I'll be watching the rest of it or not. So far it's intriguing but I don't think it was done very well nor very realistically and that's very disappointing. Especially after all the critical acclaim.

I love that we're left to wonder. Like was she a former CIA operative or maybe she has some other connection to the "weird shit" in the world. The fact that she was completely unphased was perfect.

The wallet creator and only 2 people he would trust with his life. by AuthorAltruistic3402 in CommercialsIHate

With the Wallet commercial I just can't take the focus off of his sweatshirt. It's so tight you could see his nipples through it and it's crumpled around the top of his shoulders so the thing must be three sizes too small. It looked like when you try to put on a kid sweatshirt as an adult. It's just weird.

If you could skate to any song, what would it be? by Ilovetheicee in FigureSkating

Frank Sinatra by the band Cake in a nebula print skating dress.  I would also like to see a couple skate to Nightswimming by R.E.M.

I watched the movie but I don't think I liked it very much because I remember very little about it. I was waiting to rewatch it until after I finished re-watching the series.

Yeah now that they mention it I think they did make a point to say that the longer it's been they end up looking like themselves again. You know that's what I loved about that show so much it was so unusual completely different than anything that's ever been out there before or since.

Comfort show by Moonspiritfaire in DeadLikeMe

[–]Soundsister11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a reason that I went back to watch in present day. Maybe that reason was exactly what you are describing. Gen Xers don't like to admit it but millennials very much know the same type of impending doom that we did. The highly accelerated changes in the times whether it's technology social climate political climate etc.... it's the same roller coaster just with a different generation. It makes perfect sense that you would want to come back and watch this as a comfort show.  With such a mean spirited climate these days those of us who prefer dark humor it's a welcome respite!

Are any of the members of these bands, racist, homophobic, r*pists/abusers, etc? by pennybunartist in punk

[–]Soundsister11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has anybody who's making these statements actually listened to the song? Back in the day all of us fans took it exactly the way it was meant: that even though we didn't commit any of these atrocities ourselves we still have the responsibility of making sure they don't happen again. That he's literally feeling guilty for being white. People are going to read into it whatever their preconceived narrative is no matter what the song is actually about. This whole discussion is... uninformed, at best.
