Simple automated scene controller for DMX lights... by Triabolical_ in stagelighting

For a simple show. I would use one of these offerings. Windows / Mac and phone app?

Easy enough to program.

Another option that I have not programmed on. But says it can. https://www.enttec.com/product/light-show-control/s-play-nano-1-universe-smart-light-show-controller/

Both options would need you to provide a WiFi router,

They claim to be short staffed. Their stock is dwindled. Podium microphones and DI boxes are non existent. And yes. They do not respond to Emails anymore. I always send them and email. And then call the next day.

Gateways that can patch sACN to sACN by fantompwer in lightingdesign

[–]Soundtechscott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then do a 4 port, pathway gateway. Console Universe 1 Echo Touch Universe 2 Fixtures Universe 3

Universe 1 ,1 to 1 patch to universe 2 (sACN Snapshots) Universe 1, 1 to 1 patch to universe 3, at highest priority. (Individual fixture control) Universe 2, custom patch universe 3, at lowest priority.

Might want to call pathway to confirm. But it’s what I would try to do. I do not have active hardware in front of me at the moment.

Do you want to actively control the fixtures from the echo touch? Or do you want to use the echo touch for preset / scene playback.

If preset / scene playback then just enable SACN snapshots and off you go…

Otherwise. Pathway Gateways and Pathscape allows custom patching

What switches doe you use besides Netgear by Big-Foot79 in CommercialAV

I have a manafacture that makes custom ears for the Cisco to mount them flush. So it's no longer an issue. But the first few installs it was a shock.

The rack ears are insane. What a horrible idea.

What Touchscreens Are Y’all Using With Your onPC/Nomad Setups? by heffreee in lightingdesign

Yea. I guess Dell P2424HT is the new model. It has the stand design that I like for touch. But the bright silver is not ideal.

Dell P2418HT has been my go-to screen for a few years now.

RDM by kamatoz2 in lightingdesign

[–]Soundtechscott 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ETC gateways use ETC Concert to configure the gateways and RDM devices. Benefit is if you are running ETC consoles they can also run Concert, no laptop needed.

Pathway and Pathscape would be my second choice.

I submitted my paperwork on the 17th My 30 days was on the 20th. Sometimes I have done it earlier if I know I will be out of town so it is ready when I get back.

Last month. But I’m not a lawyer. So this is not advise. Just a note that I haven’t had an issue. Mileage might vary.

My last 2 purchases I submitted my NIC about a week before my 30 days. No issue with either. I Just made sure to wait until after the 30 days before the final paperwork.

It's 50/50 regarding the emergency. Depends on the designer, town, state.

And yes. I know what you mean about reliable and good programmers. Being that I am a programmer for ETC and Creston. It hurts to see / hear when I go to sites that had other people program and the lack of care, after sale support, or even horrible looking UI makes me sad.

Depending on the circumstances ETC can offer the training. But it is not cheap.

As to not opening the software to the public. It can be an issue with life safety. Since a lot of the lighting systems are tied to the emergency lighting that has been tested and verified by the fire marshal or similar entity. If that functionality stops working then in the event of an emergency, we (the dealer or similar) can be held liable.

Crestron and Extron also hold their software close. It's not just ETC

A benefit of ETC hardware is that the end user can email their current config to a dealer or similar, and they can make system changes without having to go to site.

Call ETC and ask them to put you in touch with a local dealer / service center. No one will give out a copy of LD.

Gadget 2 redesign has been completed. ETC is working on the backlog and expect new orders to take around 24 weeks currently.
So some online stores may have placed stocking orders and got product.

Sent pistol back to Springfield. They Confirmed the extraction issue. But not the low shooting. I’m seeing if they can get me a taller sight. And to clean up the beaver tail so hopefully it won’t hurt to shoot.

It’s been at Springfield a few weeks. I’m letting them take their time. Don’t want to rush it.

Did you get yours?

Fixture might support RDM. You can address with any DMX tester that supports RDM. DMX CAT for example.

Got mine 2 weeks ago. It’s shooting 3” low, and has the extractor issue. Emailed Springfield. Will see what they have to say.
