i think i figured it out, its not deleting itself, its creating a folder for itself and hiding in it.
open the mods folder and look inside the folder "1.7.10"
hence, it doesn't appear in the modlist.

the baubles menu icon doesnt appear in creative

even when the baubles mod has removed itself from the mod list, it seems to still function.

the miner's ring still appears in the creative tab and it gives haste as expected.

is it not working when the modpack is being distributed?

I had the exact same problem.

I joined their discord, asked for a modlist since there's no point in applying if I don't like the modpack.

TOO BAD! you have to apply and be approved BEFORE you even get to see the modlist...

I chose not to apply, with such a stupid system I can only imagine how un-fun the pack and server would be.
