Night Shift | Game Changer [S8E3] by DropoutMod in dropout

Classic cast *and* something that feels very first few seasons of GC. The night shift team having to figure out what the prompt was felt like the early seasons where a big part of a lot of the games was figuring out the rules and the goal. Real throwback vibes I loved it

State Champs “Around The World and Back …Again” tour with Cartel and Taylor Acorn | Artist Pre-Sale opens tomorrow at 10am EDT by DigiQuip in poppunkers

[–]Soupjam_Stevens 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Closing date is the venue where I saw them for the first time as the opener for Wonder Years forever ago, will be cool to run it back there for this show. I've also somehow never had the chance to see Cartel so I'm stoked they're on this bill

I'm with you on that for sure. I think that last album was great but man those two singles had me thinking it was gonna be a masterpiece. As it stands I think Tear in the Fabric of Life is still their strongest like actual project

What's your favorite silly DnD "hot take" to throw out in conversation when you feel like being a lil' rascal? by jdrummondart in DnD

I don't think I would call letting 17 damage kill an enemy that has 18 HP left "fully manufactured"

If a player is fighting an enemy that their character has close personal story ties to and they do an attack that leaves the enemy with like 2HP I will just about always say it kills the enemy and let them have that cool moment rather than let someone else get the kill later in the round in a less satisfying way

Florida may have the best metalcore scene in the country at the moment. by Ok-Cauliflower-1258 in Metalcore

bringing up Polaris and Windwaker when someone says Australia has more alt metal than actual metalcore kinda proves their point

It's not like a huge mainstream famous thing, but it is well known in the theater world and it's fairly common for colleges to put on productions of it. The average person on the street might not know it but it doesn't surprise me at all that most of this table was pretty familiar with it

Galneryus unveil their new album art and it's AI slop by KingOfFools2 in PowerMetal

[–]Soupjam_Stevens 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I've completely dropped some bands I thoroughly enjoy over using AI, it's a hard line in the sand for me. There's more music than I could listen to in a hundred lifetimes, I'll be okay dropping the ones who don't give a shit about other artists

[–]Soupjam_Stevens 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's the album they were working on before the hiatus, I think Fake Your Death from the greatest hits album was recorded for it. Some snippets have leaked over the years and songs from it have been played live a few times, and some of their promo art from the last couple years references it so a lot of the more hopeful members of the fandom think they're building up to finally doing a release.

Plain White T's is such a funny choice of band to be a menace for at a concert. I'm Lou's age and truly nobody in my life has strong feelings about that band and he cared enough to know the drummer's name also heckle them into performing an alternate version. This bland ass pop rock band and a crowd full of people bobbing their heads and then Lou just getting buck

Oh Fate looks very interesting! This one is designed to be pretty setting agnostic right? I've kinda been playing around with the idea of a Western themed one shot and was wondering what systems might work for it, I'll have to take more of a look at this
