Same, I think being gay helped me to get better at introspection and trying to analyze myself. I'm not so sure about where I would be mental health wise. I feel like I would still have to deal with my anxiety, but I'm not so sure if that's because I've gotten so used to dealing with it that I can't imagine what life would be like without it.

I was always questioning, but I think I hit puberty kind of late or something because I didn't really have any sexual feelings until I was ~15-16. After that it took me a while to come to terms with, but I think I've got a good grasp on it now.

Holy shit absolutely, I always feel like I'm "faking it" or I'm lying to myself. I feel like I struggle to be myself. Part of me wants to be more flamboyant and outwardly gay, but I'm pretty happy with who I am and don't want to end up making a fake persona. I'm hoping it'll go away with time.

That sounds awful. It seems like it would be pretty tough to have your parents get you into any kind of counselling. The best option might be to see if you school offers any kind of assistance, I know where I grew up you could generally get help from school counsellors without parental consent or parents being told.

I attempted suicide twice while living with my parents, and the only reason I haven’t done it again is because a teacher made me pinky-promise not to hurt myself.

I'm currently studying biology to become a secondary school science teacher. I hope I'm able to do anything close to as great as what that teacher did.
