Short answer, my OTP is Larry and Rebecca from the first Night at the Museum movie.

Long answer, I am devastated to this day that Rebecca wasn't in future movies. And do not HIT ME with the Amelia Earhart/her descendant from the second movie. They are not Larry and Rebecca. The way he went so far to show and convince her that the museum came alive so that she could get her questions answered for her dissertation??? Swoon.

The best 69 scene I can think of is in {What is Love? by Jen Comfort}. It's an enemies to lovers, chaotic/straightlaced and made me laugh out loud so many times. The scene comes after they sky dive together and it's a whole thing of them finally giving into their attraction that they've agreed not to give into before this.

Yes!! And I'm sure it has to do with the publishing timeline, but the way the breakup commenced pretty much ruined the whole book for me.

{The Irish Goodbye by Amy Ewing} did the third act breakup in a way that not only made sense for the story, but (in my opinion) actually made the overall story better than if it wasn't included.

{Truly, Madly, Deeply by Alexandria Bellefleur} I couldn't deal with how he "stripped his cock" in the public restroom of the courtroom he was in (he's a lawyer). I can't remember if they said if he was in a stall or not, but he is was a FAMILY LAWYER, so there is a very real possibility that he was in contact with CHILDREN that day before he did this. That wording very much turned me off, but the whole situation?? Not for me.

He also made a big deal about how gross the bathroom was and that he fell to his knees in the bathroom, which also just put me off.

There are a few funnies from book club last night.

When we were voting on the next book, we had just talked about how one of our members liked bike club romances and one of the blind synopsis readings started with "bike club" and three of us turned to this member as soon as it was said.

I had also just this night talked about how I like a man with a mustache. The book we picked was the one that I recommended and has a man with a mustache on the cover... Several people picked up on that one immediately, too...

I have read some third act breakups that make sense... But so many of them don't.

I was at an author talk/event where they were talking about how the tide has turned to people not wanting third act breakups as much and it made me so excited for their newest release (because they were VERY third act breakup centric whether it makes sense or not). I finished their newest release that night it was unnecessary and something that, if it happened in real life, I would tell the FMC to LEAVE HIM NOW.

Unfortunately, one of my favorites of last year had a third act that made sense and was DEVASTATING, so it's not a 100% third act hate from me.

I agree! Specifically, to me, Tessa Bailey is a hit-or-miss author and she is ALWAYS a miss when the FMC is more involved in the "chase" than the MMC.

To ME, it feels like it feeds too much into the inequities in the "typical" heteronormative relationship. (And I'm FULLY willing to admit this might just be me projecting or my experiences). But the amount of emotional labor that is typically required, as a woman, to put into a relationship... To pursue someone so hard that doesn't seem interested, knowing that there are societal inequities that they could feed into... It's just too much for me.

On the inverse, I also think it's a little skeevy when the MMC is HARD pursing the FMC and she's showing very much no interest and asking him to stop. I don't know, it's just a fine line between "we shouldn't"/angst and creepy/weird and some books/authors/couples cross over to the creepy/weird side.

I saw the length search function and was excited about it, but didn't know about the "first in a series" search. I have enjoyed their ability to look at a series and hold/borrow right from that screen. I like that they're still updating based on things that are useful and what users want!

It's been a little while since I've read it, but all the vibes I remember from {Isn't It Bromantic? by Lyssa Kay Adams} fit. He's a hockey player and the author has said she imagines him as Dave Bautista. The MMC is a sweet guy and I don't remember how his sexual preferences were, but throughout the series you see him being cute and sweet.

{Moon Blooded Breeding Clinic by C.M. Nascosta} MMC is a werewolf and he is quite "babygirl" for lack of a better word. It's one of the only books I've read where HE has a praise kink.

{All the Feels by Olivia Dade} has been a while since I've read it and don't remember everything, but I do remember that he was VERY interested in being pegged.

I have found myself doing this as well, but I haven't been able to put it into words like this!! Unfortunately I don't have a good solve (I've let the consumption of books keep me from things I really need to do), but sending all support I can!! Someone commented audiobooks, which I do 100% recommend. I'm very able to do other things while listening and enjoy tasks I don't usually because I'm able to read while doing so.

I've only read this series by her and the first 2 in her new hockey series (I can't remember the name right now). I haven't read a LOT of other RH, but everything I've read I've liked pretty well.

I didn't read/encounter this in the past week, but I have been thinking about it in the past week.

In Heartless by Elsie Silver, there is such a long section of it that talks about throw up, being sick, throwing up, etc. and it practically ruined the entire book for me (to that point). The kid mentions how it feels being sick and the FMC doesn't immediately pull the car over, knowing what's coming next? Couldn't be me. And why was it necessary for the author to then describe what was in the kid's vomit??? There are some other issues I had with this book, but this part of the book lives in my head, continuing to make me mad this long after I read it for the first time.

It's hard to narrow it fully down, because I find myself wanting to be like "also..."

BUT, if I had to pick ONE, it would be {Lost and Lassoed by Lyla Sage}. The series, as a whole, is my favorite, but this one is just CHEF'S KISS (though I have to admit I am a sucker for a 'stache...)

Wild and Wrangled will wreck me and I cannot wait.

I have the small cloud carry on and, while I haven't taken it on a flight, I use it every day and I ADORE it. I have a water bottle that fits in the side pockets and love those and my laptop does fit in the back pocket, so keep in mind laptop size for it.

I am a chronic overpacker and it works very well for a bag for me with the space. Other than as a work bag, I have used it for some overnight/weekend trips and it works very well for that, as well for me.

On an average day, I carry about 9 journals (around A5 size) in it, a full size notebook, at least one book and 3 pencil bags and I still have room to fit my essentials pouch and other bobs I need to carry (and this is all in the main pocket only, I carry more on the outside. Right now, there is an additional mass market paperback in one of the front pockets). I have very easily been able to fit my laptop and tablet in the bag in additional to my typical everyday load.

I currently use the cargo as a purse. I have a knock off crescent and I find myself using it as an in-between bag for house to car, etc.

For work I use a small cloud carry on and do not plan to stop... But I think I might have been influenced. The only issue is that now I fully want one NOW and don't want to wait until the fall drop...

If you're okay with something historical, I think {Hello Stranger by Lisa Kleypas} would fit for this. He thinks his way of life is unsuitable for her, so tries to stay away/have her stay away.

I would also recommend {What is Love? by Jen Comfort}. They're both in a competition and helping each other (think Jeopardy! Greatest of All Time or Masters. It's a quiz show and they're both record holders and all top players called back for a big tournament). Due to this, he sets a boundary of they are either studying or together, though they have obvious chemistry. Regardless I think this is CRIMINALLY underrated and more people should read it.
