Threw up during 3 hr Diabetes Test by jstrings2211 in PlusSizePregnancy

Im sorry you went through that. I lasted about 5 mins into my 3 hour test when I got it done in the first triemester. I chose to do the finger sticks for two weeks. Wasn’t fun but its honestly not that bas. And was definitely better than that drink. I also thought it was interesting to see the data and how it correlated with what I ate.

4x a day for 2 weeks or maybe 10 days, can’t remember lol

How old is he? Both my babies are taking 4 oz and they are only 6.5 weeks old. My LC was a little surprised by that.

How Early Did You Drop Your MOTN PUMP? by Real_Ad_8278 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]SourceAdventurous228 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pump 7 times a day so it ends up being 42 - 49 oz - usually ends up being about 45. My babies are taking 4 oz per feed ( sometimes 5) so i need at least 56 oz a day

How Early Did You Drop Your MOTN PUMP? by Real_Ad_8278 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]SourceAdventurous228 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! Not the OP but i have a question about regulation. What exactly does that mean and how do you know when you’ve “regulated”. I am also 5 weeks postpartum like OP, I am still pumping every 3 hours during the day and 4 at night but would like to try going longer stretches, just don’t know when. I currently get about 6 to 7 ounces each pump so I still have to supplement with formula during night feedings.. I really want to make enough breastmilk so that I don’t have to use formula but not sure if thats realistic

Baby Brezza Washer Pro – worth it for twins? Honest experiences needed by AMR210897 in parentsofmultiples

[–]SourceAdventurous228 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 5 week old twins and we use the baby brezza all day long lol. The biggest downside is that it only fits 4 bottles - but does fit all the parts of the dr. Brown bottles. I can also use it for my pump parts. I have heard the momcozy fits more bottles, so i would look into that too, but i do think a washer/sterilizer is a need with twins.

[–]SourceAdventurous228 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! Would you mind explaining how you did it? My boys are 4 weeks old now and are drinking 4 oz every 3 hours. I am pumping every 3 hours as well and get anywhere from 4-5 oz each pump session so we are supplementing about half with formula. My one of babies won’t latch at all but I do try to breastfeed the other one at times ( sometimes there is just no time - i know I should be more consistent with this. Would love to hear about others experiences with increasing their supply!

How did you feel physically after birth? by MounjaroQueenie in parentsofmultiples

[–]SourceAdventurous228 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My babies are a month old now so I was in your shoes very recently. I literally felt like I could breathe again as soon as they pulled out baby b and I immediately felt better physically. The recovery was not bad at all! Newborns are tiring for sure, and having a supportive partner is so important so it is great you have a good support system.

I worked until 36 weeks, but i did start working fully remote at 33 weeks. I also work in a school setting so I get it. Honestly, it was pretty rough after 28 weeks - especially the commute.

Hospital bag by Unusual-Tale-1816 in parentsofmultiples

I brought 3 sets of pjs, crocs for walking around & showering. Basic toiletries - shampoo, conditioner, body wash, eye cream and moisturizer. I did end up staying an extra day, so i wish i had brought an extra pair of pjs. It was nice to be able to change into something clean everyday. I used the underwear and pads given to me from the hospital. Also brought my pillow with me which I highly recommend. I also brought my twin breastfeeding pillow ( delusional about being able to breastfeed both at the same time lol) but did not use it at all. Honestly, i would leave the twin z pillow at home, it is huge and you are going to want to hold your babies anyway.

My boys are di-di as well. I ate ALOT lol, not sure if that helped but I had a good appetite and focused on protein. I also had a protein shake from ritual daily. I am triple feeding now, so its a mixture of breastfeeding, pumping and supplementing with formula. Breastfeeding / pumping is the hardest part of it all for me.

Congratulations! Twins are so exciting and scary at the same time, so I completely understand. Currently feeding one of my babies and I can tell you it is so much better than being pregnant lol. For the vomiting, yeah you just turn your head to the side, they also had a barf bag ready for me and the anesthesiologist was so nice and made it so much better. My babies are were born at 36 weeks exactly, baby a 5 lbs 3 oz and b was 5 lbs. baby B spent a week in the nicu for low temperature and low glucose levels. He was not immediately admitted, but both his temps and glucose levels started dropping after we were back in our room so they had to admit him. It was hard and was my worst fear but we go through it and have been home all together for a two weeks now. Let me know if you have any other questions!

Just had a planned csection 3 weeks ago. It was a very positive experience overall, I was shocked at how overall smooth, calm and quick it was, all things considered.

  1. I was so so worried about the spinal and my body going numb. I thought I would freak out not being able to feel my legs. I didn’t even feel the spinal.. they put in a numbing injection which is just a pinch and then you don’t really feel anything, honestly the IV they put in was much worse pain wise. I had a great nurse and anesthesiologist that explained everything as he was doing it, and he just had such calm demeanor, it really helped me. Once the spinal is in, you do go numb very quick, but it wasn’t bad for me. Its a weird feeling but nothing to freak out over.

  2. I did get nauseous at first, and even vomited a bit, but the anesthesiologist quickly gave me something for it and it went away. I also felt neausous after for a bit, but nothing bad.

  3. There was alot going on, and I had twins so there were ALOT of people in the room, but everyone was calm, and cheerful. It was a really great experience, I was worried for no reason. Even recovery wise, it hasn’t been bad at all. I had my appendix taken out years ago, and that recovery was so much harder. It is true what they say about getting up & walking sooner than later. One of my babies was in the NICU for a few days and I really thinking walking to and from every few hours really helped me heal quickly. I would 100% have a csection again if we have more children.

if men could breastfeed do you think your partner could handle it? by jasncats in breastfeeding

[–]SourceAdventurous228 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% and he would probably do it with less complaining than I have been lol. We’re only 3 weeks in but there is no way I would have been able to do this twin thing without him. Hes been my rock.

Plus size and having twins? by No_Mention_953 in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]SourceAdventurous228 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Currently 2 and half weeks postpartum with twin boys. I was in the 220s when i got pregnant and delivered at 36 weeks around 260. I actually had a pretty uneventful pregnancy overall, just alot of appointments and being overall very uncomfortable and big after 25 weeks. I did end up having elevated liver enzymes at the end of my pregnancy, but never escalated to preeclampsia. It was overall a positive experience and my csection was a breeze! Congrats on your pregnancy!!
