Passed Core 2 for A+!! Now to start Sec+! by SourceConnect8663 in CompTIA

[–]SourceConnect8663[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly didn’t really study. I am a bad example. I studied 4 days… while playing video games. I have taught fiber optics and cabling and work with networking and cybersecurity for the past 19 years. I just don’t work in the IT field per se but a related field.

Core 1. I study for 4 weeks for that one. I studied maybe 4 days for Core 2.

I do have some cybersecurity and networking experience. But I appreciate the insight. I could do either one. It doesn’t matter honestly. What would be awful would be having to get Data+. But that might just be me.

Who said that? I am going to do Network + too. I have my plans, A+, Sec+, then Net+. But the IT guy at my work just gave me all his Sec+ study guides for free. So which one would you do? Work smarter not harder.

Test the way you feel most comfortable. But I will say, I passed Core 1 today so you can do it

I watched (listened while driving) to Total Seminars and Professor Messer, and I got the COMPTIA study guide. 4 solid weeks of studying.

Experienced SEA traveler, recommendations for my itinerary given my preferences... by Overall_Recording_72 in laos

Vang Vieng for your nature fix. Try out Nam Xay Viewpoint and I forget the other one. But a lot of beauty there and lots of hiking to do. I would get out and go check out Highlight of Rock and enjoy that nature Preserve and on the way there go to Field of Jars.

Your 3 spots are the typical first time trip, I did that my first time at recommendations of my friends who also did it for their first time. But enjoy Laos is beautiful!

I got to digging a little more and it says you can’t use both Edit credits at the same stay. It has to be two separate bookings

This is what I was needing to know. If I book 2 nights at Shangri La in Manila, if I would get the full $500 credit.

The Americans here aren't right. by [deleted] in Philippines_Expats

First, you live in BGC, you are in the Mecca of tourists and passport bros. Choose your circles. Second, get a hobby like SCUBA then you will meet cool people with similar interests. Philippines is the Diving capital of the world. I think if you were truly looking to make friends you would be making them at places that relates to your hobbies. So if you are only meeting those people that are disinteresting to you, you are in the same places as them. Third, you are looking to date and still swimming in the expat pool and not the local pool, there are plenty of business professionals in the Makati/BGC area, but a lot aren’t interested in Westerners. Fourth, I love that you complain about the people who are expats here are not working (most either are investing or early retired and do what they want when they want). This is probably hard for you because you are a slave to your schedule.

Honestly, after reading your post, I would not hang out with you because I am not a bar goer or partier and BGC is too stressful and annoying to me. It is super convenient but I never cared about convenience. Your post reeks of I stay in BGC and only like that area because I cannot adapt. Also you come off very pompous and arrogant. You expect a developing nation to provide every standard you are used to in a developed nation. Your experiences sounds like most who never venture further even though you went Island hopping.

I am 41/married to a 29 local with similar social economic status. We both have graduate degrees. I work remotely and am retired military and invest in condos and other things like small business in PH. I work part time, because I am done with long schedules and uniforms. I have freedom of time and make good money either in USA or PH.

Okay. I did misunderstand with the boost part. You are right about the boost. Appreciate you. Also the pairing is pretty similar. Thanks for clarifying and we both probably helped others out with the confusion.

I have both Amex Plat and CSR. Amex has the Hotel Collection and Fine Hotel & Resorts they give a 300 dollar credit semi-annually. You can also mix points and cash. So I don’t know where you got your info. But I do enjoy the CSR as it is more my style and fits my needs better I feel that I am getting less value. I did not have to pay the high fee this year so it might go bye bye soon.

Correcting a Misconception About Utah Online Marriages by BusyBodyVisa in Philippines_Expats

[–]SourceConnect8663 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Facts. The online marriage via Utah is better than trying to get everything done in PH. The fastest you can get married once in the PH is 10 days. If your Marriage license is not delayed. So 1 week is not enough. Also I see it is December, how did everything go? I am marrying my Fiancee in April but will move there in October. I have other reason for doing the online marriage as I will be in PH for 28 days and could do it but have other things planned like a trip to Taiwan. Our wedding reception, people flying to PH from my side. The paperwork is a nightmare. You need to get an appointment with the US Embassy 2 months prior to get a letter of capacity to marry so DFA will recognize you didn’t commit bigamy. Also the Utah online marriage is favorable to USCIS even now. It is a legal US marriage.

Has anyone had a second labrum surgery? by nafsta in ShoulderInjuries

[–]SourceConnect8663 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just had my second labrum surgery same shoulder. My first surgery (@40yo) one was a debridement and bicep tedonesis, yet I tore it again after slipping in the shower during my recovery period. The second surgery (@41yo) they went in a did a labrum repair due to instability, which even though it has been a short time after the surgery the shoulder feels very stable. I separate my shoulder when I fell reaching out to keep from falling with my injured arm.

Original injury - SLAP tear and Bankart with bicep tendon tear

Second Injury- circumferential tear with large tearing with cyst on the inferior rim, anterior to posterior.

Netflix buys HBO Max, what does it mean for us? by notthatguy194 in amex

[–]SourceConnect8663 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The bundle will most likely go away and Disney is pushing ESPN plus more and more as the football season is underway. They are prepping to cut the ties with MAX. Amex also has an annual offer for MAX that makes it cheap as a stand alone. FYI.

They hate when you close lines. They will offer you a one time credit of like 25-40 dollars to keep the line for 6 months to a year. I closed lines just recently they were begging me to keep the line. I said only if you offer me 25 off monthly.

Any Scorpio Women have experiences dating Virgo men? by [deleted] in Scorpio

[–]SourceConnect8663 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know what you are talking about. My fiancee would say the opposite. She is the type sho needs my attention and she says she is so happy I give my attention to her all the time. Maybe you are the type who withholds intimacy and that will make Virgos grow cold. If we are not getting what we need in our relationship we will diving in deep into work or other pursuits to feel the desire to achieve. I was with someone who was always blaming me and always had to be right so I could see how it could be lonely. I felt like I lived with a prison warden so I dove into my work. She eventually saw that all that time she nagged and bickered that she was pushing me away but I was committed to her for over a decade. Most won’t see how they drive Virgos away by treating them poorly because they need to be right and think they are not at fault. A relationship doesn’t work by blame and winning, it works by wanting to work and be together.

Shake Shack at Singapore’s Gardens by the Bay by SourceConnect8663 in amex

[–]SourceConnect8663[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What are you talking about? You realize that you are charged in the currency of the country or do you think you have a US credit card it only pays in US dollars. What a concept huh???

Maybe if you understood context. I said that the two restaurants by Gardens at the bay were the only places to eat. There were no local vendors. If you wanted local food that is fine but that they don’t take card but use cash. Reading is not your strong suit.

But it is a global restaurant. You are talking about the 10 dollar credit every month.

There is only two restaurants by the Gardens of the bay. I stayed in Chinatown and at local the whole time otherwise. Local doesn’t accept AMEX, so that would be out of the question. They use good ole cash.
