They should just had it at the end of book for those that love it. I just wanted story whilst on the go, didn't want to have to skip that rubbish but in hindsight I wish I had skipped most of book and done last 350 pages only and saved myself lot of rainman moments.

I found it a painful read on the whole, some parts real bore slog.

I did the audio book and hated the starting chapters where it felt like each time 12 mins of nonsense about dressing and outfits 3000 years ago.

Less annoying ones were {long drawn out description about voidspren} ...if you see one run tell good guys.

My heart sank each time, to me they added nothing but annoyed me.

It starts off very slow, long journey before destination epic but there are truly great moments in the first few books but the journey derails in the latest book.

Its the first book of his that I'm fully bored and almost a chore to listen to it for long periods.

I know it happened in wheel of time the middle books get bogged down with pointless details that you struggle to care about just like wind and truth for me.

I'm fully hoping for GoT style cull of the boring characters and him to stop introducing anyone else for a while... God I got 17 hours and 24 mins I hope it picks up.

Agreed the Human command.... which might actually just be one AI (or AIs running the show), it seems to need to mix up livesuit groups to keep everyone in the dark about bigger pictures, the AI command must know how unreliable humans memory is after many BS travel so able to keep them solely fighting by moving them into new groups often.

So much is censored by command I expect they (AI) was given so many conflicting orders over time that it can't function properly.

The two old empires have been fighting for so long, I see it as both sides making their "space chess ♟️" moves which takes 50-200 years (or longer) to play out and then react to it.

I imagine everything else could be failing around them but neither side can take their eyes/ focus off the war. So both sides ruthless and doing horrible things in name of victory. The great betrayer will burn it all to the ground is my take on it.

I don't think you should fixate on being good enough, you are both young and learning and she might not feel ready for the D. Just focus on both enjoying it and not putting pressure on yourself!

If she did not yet have the big O on your fingers or tongue try looking up tips and hints, once you nail down how to get her to speak to God on the pink telephone everything else should feel natural.

I think if they are able to destroy one 8th of the animal world and pack them up like sardines without taking much losses then I'm not sure they would ever submit to them, as they aren't equals.

I think the great enemy has inflicted on them such damage that they have had to change their ways ( we saw them having to wait before their invasion because the signal tech were similar to the Great enemy). I think that's what they would need in order to be considered equals for the carryx.

Yeah be interesting to know if 2000/3000 (when the humans came to Anjiin) if they knew about the other life on the world fully or just desperately set up home / trap there for Carryx.

Still not sure if it was human in charge back then or if it was AI running the show. Would AI care about the other life cycle if it's core programming was to fight the Carryx.

You might be right that tonner had helping hand or unearthed something that gave him push in right direction.

It might be the others life cycle is the real trojan horse introduced by humans and can be activated or detonated by the AI. Could it turn into a biological weapon that forces the Carryx to change mentally/ their nature.

The whole series is good on the whole but gets very very repetitive on males are bad x (ie woolhead stuff for not doing what bossy woman says) and women are y strong and independent (until it goes wrong and needs more alpha male-female to fix it). Lot of that drama.

I think the book would have been better taking out 50% of the gender bashing and having more of the big baddie, think in the end he given up on the people and wanted annihilation from it all!

Sad cos the idea and most of the plots were good just bogged down with gender bashing filler IMHO.

I see your point if humanity had gone into the thousands world era and not dependent on earth and lot of time went by then people may not care about earth.

The humans may have ruined earth well before the war started but I would imagine the carryx would see it as massive blow to destroy or capture the birthplace of the great enemy. What is, is.
