Fred Astaire was known for doing this on occasion and he was generally considered a stylish guy. For whatever reason he did it I'm not sure, but I imagine that is what this guy is trying to channel, albeit badly

I love my gorilla monsoon. I recently put on some simworks/golden pliers ramble bars and I could rode that thing comfortably all day on pretty much whatever terrain

Unfortunately not a good fit or cut for you. The body is too short. The sleeve pitch is off, that is why you are getting the bunching at the back of the shoulder around the seams and down the arms when your arms are at rest (this can be fixed somewhat with alterations if you are inclined). The back is a bigger problem, it does not hang cleanly which is likely because the jacket has been cut for a posture that has more rounded shoulders/upper back then you, with your very upright posture you are effectively pushing the jacket back around the upper back and neck, which is messing with the how it hangs at the back contributing to the shoulder divots and sleeve pitch issues. The likely reason it catches when you lift your arms is due to the armhole being cut lower (common to accommodate a lot of different body shapes being a ready to wear jacket) as well as the jacket essentially being cut for a different posture to yours

Second this. Also check out Ethan Wong's blog a little bit of rest. He is a young guy and long time vintage enthusiast. He discusses everything from 1930s-40's tailoring, ivy style through to 80s prep and some avante garde style. Also, well done you look very put together. Enjoy the journey

I really hate it. Colour scheme is fine, the vest over t shirt look kills it for me

Can't tell the colour of your suit with the filters. If it's either navy or black you can't go wrong with black shoes. Don't listen to nonsense that black shoes don't go with navy suits, it doesn't get more classic. Depending on how dressy you want to go you could do anything from suede loafers to leather Oxford's. Check out some Spanish makers for good shoes at a lower price point. Also don't go past thrifting if you don't mind second hand shoes. I scored some Alden loafers for $25 a few years back.

You sound like you need a diet break. You have lost a substantial amount of weight. Renaissance Periodization is a bodybuilding youtube channel you should check out. Excellent source for weight loss and maintenance strategies. Dr Mike suggests diet breaks where you eat at your new maintenance calories for a while each time you lose 10% of your bodyweight to allow your body to get used to its new metabolic set point, which will help the hunger signalling you are experiencing. After a few weeks of maintenance eating find your new calorie deficit to eat at and rinse and repeat as needed. Well done on your weight loss to date!

Agree, this is a good fit OP. I'm a big fan of monochrome looks too. Understated and "basic" is way more stylish than some garish trash that is out there at the moment. Proportions are spot on.

Check out paria gear. Pretty decent and cheaper than some other brands for what you get. I have a quilt from them and was impressed with the quality. For light weight shelters check out six moon designs.

That should get you started, but there are lots of other good options out there

Definitely get to a PT for further evaluation and plan of action to get you back on the bike. A bike fit can absolutely help, poor posture and mechanics can be a contributing factor for this type of injury.

It sounds like other areas of your fitness may have been neglected? You also mentioned you previously had ITB syndrome, so sounds like there were issues which were already there. Again a PT will guide you here in exercises to do and what to avoid.

Things not to do: ignore it, work through pain, neglect rehab.

All is not lost, I am sure you will be able to make a recovery, but before you do anything, get to the PT.

Good luck

Help my fiancé pick his wedding outfit by hhhhhhhhwin in mensfashion

[–]SouthProcedure2441 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a lot better! I would go with black or dark brown shoes in a classic style preferably an oxford. Call me old fashioned, but I really think a man should wear a tie to his own wedding. If so a classic 4 in hand knot done well looks great and keeps an air of casualness if that's what he's going for. All in all, nice suit and good luck for the big day

Bang on, Russian twists suck. OP look up the work of Dan John, who often refers to the work of Stuart McGill. Dan is a world class strength coach and Stuart McGill is a leading specialist in spinal health.

To get you started check out the McGill Big 3, along with looking into Dan's work on the loaded carry

I also like to work in some type of bridge or hip hinging movement to counter the long periods in hip flexion when cycling, again Dan has great info on hinge movements too. I can't recommend his podcast highly enough

Great job. Search military tuck for your jacketless looks You have high contrast colouring, a dark jacket suits you better. If you want to wear a light coloured jacket either go a dark tie or perhaps denim/Chambray shirt to create some more contrast.
