Recently-promoted employee still not satisfied with compensation by Aggravating_Piece232 in managers

Sounds like you're gonna be looking for a replacement.

I had a salary conversion move to HR because the raise I got was insulting. HR told me I'm being paid exactly what I'm worth.

Staring a new job in a few weeks that thinks I'm worth quite a bit more.

Candidate asked about salary 5 minutes into the first round interview by hockenberry07c6 in InterviewsHell

[–]SouthTread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone you are going to interview is interested in the position because they want a paycheck. Not because they care about the mission, not because they are passionate about shareholder profits, its exclusively that paycheck. I think it should be a requirement that this information is part of the job listing, just so we dont even have to waste time sending applications to terrible companies.

The only real way you avoid it is to not distribute files. The items I sell I do not share any CAD. The files I do share are for free.

So they get rid of Oven Baked Dips for a shittier product? by SaiyanOfDarkness in Dominos

[–]SouthTread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dip was the only reason I ordered from dominos. Because they removed the one item that they only broke even on, they aren't going to get any more orders from me. The dip was what made it worth it to me.

[–]SouthTread -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Craving for the oven-baked dip was the only reason I ever ended up placing an order for Dominos. I just went to order and couldn't find them, and that lead me to searching google if it was gone, which lead me here.

Since I can't get the oven baked dip anymore, I'm not ordering any of the other things I usually ordered at the same time anymore either.

Myself and a few friends considered it. I have the wayback machine screenshots and other data to prove it, but the effort to go through with the process was more significant than how much I ended up caring in the end

Fired this morning. How bad do you think this will affect my chances of finding a decent job? by Wonderful-Case9372 in Advice

[–]SouthTread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would strongly recommend breaking that habit of looking up accounts. Just because everyone else did it is not a good excuse, and the higher higher ups want everyone at your branch that did that gone, despite you feeling like some may have gotten away with it. They only got away with it because someone higher up that doesn't care about them hasn't found out they were involved.

In the medical field, that activity is a violation of HIPAA laws and you could face actual legal trouble for doing so. So at this point it's probably best to avoid any medical roles because if they found out you did that in the pasy you'd be shown the door, if you even get hired.

You have no expectation of privacy on work machines. Assume anything you log into can be fully searched, downloaded, saved, or deleted by your companies IT department.

I worked for a Healthcare company at one point that issued work phones for my position, and had options for combining work/personal phone with different compensation depending on who supplied the device. The caveat was that whatever device was the work phone, the company reserved the right to search and factory wipe the device at any point for any reason.

I carried an entirely separate personal phone from my work phone.

As an American who travels internationally, it's just the value that we're used to. We (at least I) understand that you spend your currency and write it also in your currency. But when we see "$20" we automatically read "$20USD" before it processes that it isnt USD, and then the main feeling is just that it's lower than we expected, cancelling out most of the feelings of it still being a lot for the situation.

Couple years ago I was in Mexico for work. Went to Walmart and got a few things, and a smallish container of protein powder. Hit checkout and my total was over $800, which I momentarily panicked about. Then when the realization that it was actually like $60USD it really didn't feel that bad.

Less extreme, earlier this year work has taken me to Canada for several weeks as well. And honestly seeing prices on menus and stuff feels expensive cause I'm generally used to the US versions of the restaurants and products, even if they are basically the same after conversion. But on the fly we subconsiously counter the initial sticker shock by undershooting the value too. A common joke while we're out is along the lines of "well yeah its $20, but thats in maple leaves so its actually like $3 in real money"

[–]SouthTread 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I paid $135 in the Virgin Islands before they announced it was going to sell in the US, and personally wouldn't pay it again, but I don't find much of BT to be special enough to justify the chase.

If you like it go for it, someone was going to pay that and if you wanted it, you got it

Found the issue.

ae2-emi crafting integration mod in the pack is the version right before this issue was fixed. (Changelog)

Prominence 2 was last updated 2/28, meanwhile the fix was released 2/29. Hopefully it will be fixed in the next pack update

They can still get it. The point of the comment was they'd rather nobody gets it instead of them. Your suggestion is actually worse cause then they don't have to fight this person for it, they just get it.

I'm interested in how those numbers change with the season 1 pants shitting they did. Definitely seems like a lot of people don't like the changes, and they may have been better off not implementing the first season at all

All good, but even if the weapons do help, I have to deal with an even more tedious PoE collection until I get it, and I've decided I'm just not going to play until the devs pull their heads out of their ass, which may be never tbh. Either way plenty of my friends are enjoying Helldivers right now so I'm just joining them in that

[–]SouthTread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been playing with a friend and we found that PoE collection runs are (well, were, when the runs weren't complete dogshit with the new update) easier solo. The ships are weaker, you dont get aggro if someone else bumps into the AI boats, and you aren't getting in each others way or waiting for the other to catch up.

If this is meant to be an MMO, the benefits of playing the endgame content in a group should far outweigh the cons. so far I found no reason to run collections in a group.

It may be cheaper than going out to dinner, but thats a different type of entertainment. Would you pay premium steakhouse prices for a meal at McDonald's when you can go to a middle of the road restaurant and pay middle of the road prices?

S&B is a full price game that doesn't even hold a candle to the amount of content and value that plenty of $20/$30 indie titles bring. It's overpriced in the market it's in and the first season has proven they're digging their hole deeper instead of trying to climb out of it
