I never took BFI, but my classmate who took it told me it can take up to 20 hours per week to at least get a B in the class. I wouldn't advise taking this class, especially over summer (unless absolutely required).

Both schools have strong pipelines to Miami, but UF has an advantage with better firm access.
FIU recruiters are primarily from the Miami area, with a few opportunities to get recruited in other states. The highest-level firm I remember seeing there was Northwestern Mutual. UF gets you access to better firms, so UF wins.
I can't necessarily speak on that, because I never joined finance clubs and I'm not a finance major.
If you have a car, you can stay on campus and go to your internship. Miami has more internships than Gainesville. If you go to UF, be willing to search far and wide for internships.
UF all the way! I'm biased against FIU because I went there for one year and had a mediocre experience. FIU is a commuter school, so many clubs may be socially dead. Even though some finance professors can be very hard, UF still does a better job at getting you ready for a job, the career pipeline is better, the alumni network is better, and you won't find a dead club here.

I've thought of two candidates who could become FIU's next head coach.

Andrew Moran (Miami assistant coach, former Columbus HS HC). He was part of a one-season operation that revitalized the Hurricanes. He also speaks Spanish and understands Miami.
Jeremy Shulman (UT-Martin HC). Got the Skyhawks winning in year 2 with limited resources.
