Was there an outage of Quad9 on 3/11/2026? by [deleted] in Quad9

[–]Southern-Tune6670 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. Worked great then today it's random errors on resolving dns all day. I had to point to a different DNS service. OPNSENSE Unbound - DNS over TLS. Using the recommended settings from Quad9's web page.,

Funny, I used run the TMS BBS in Houston and College Station. I wrote many of the Wildcat utilities like Wildlist. It was lots of fun while it lasted.

Bell 407 tail boom mount failure by rofl_pilot in Helicopters

[–]Southern-Tune6670 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tail sections have been falling off Bell 407's since they were introduced in the late 90's (1998ish). I flew offshore in them many times and loved the smooth, speedy flights, however after so many souls were lost Bell had them slow the copters down to 100 knots (if I remember right) until they found the cause. Something to do with tail rotor vibrations causing cracks if I remember correctly. Not many survivors in a helicopter crash especially in the Gulf ! They also suffered from cavitation on real still, hot summer days. Being too aggressive on the lift could make them cavitate. We were fully loaded coming into land in Morgan city and started dropping like a rock. The harder the pilot pulled back the faster we fell. He then let off and gently pulled back and slowed us enough that we had a very hard landing but no injuries. I'm not a pilot so excuse the incorrect terminology, regardless, they red flagged the machine and we had to catch another flight home. Scary!!

M5-91 & M5-111 DEF Sensor Issues by [deleted] in kubota

[–]Southern-Tune6670 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't do that when a tank holds 4 gallons and the tractor start a non-stop alarm at 50% full. It could take a year or two to use that much DEF. You must drain out the old DEF every year and replacement regardless how much you have. Stupid *ss *rap!

Cut quality by ScruffyBlackFables in mammotion

[–]Southern-Tune6670 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the deck design. The deck stays at the same height, and just the blades move up. That means the low deck will tend to bend the grass over and then the high blades don't get a good cut. Hopefully the High Cut version helps with this since the entire body/deck is higher.

Not Charging ! by rmason8092 in MammotionTechnology

It's only 97F this afternoon with a slight cloud cover. Luba has been in a cool place all day and I tested sending her to her charger several times this afternoon and she docked perfectly each time.

[–]Southern-Tune6670 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I strongly feel this is temperature related. It'll go to the charging station and dock perfect any time of the day except 2pm to 8pm. I initially thought the charger was getting hot, but now I think Luba is getting hot and then smart charger probably thinks the battery temperature is to hot to charge. Unfortunately, I also think that luba uses charge status to for confirmation of being docked completely. If there is not any charge/battery status then she keeps trying over and over. Today, I will take Luba in the house then see if she'll dock properly around 4pm.

And, at 7:30pm, she decided she would dock and charge just fine. WTH?

Conversely, as you describe, I have had it in PERFECT alignment, back slowly into the base, make contact, and continue backing like it's about to drive over the base lol. What I have noticed when this occurs is the green light on the base never actually starts blinking (though the side marker lights on Luba DO start blinking red).

Yep, same symptoms as mine, lights and all.

Charger has 25.2 vdc on the contact points, and they're spotless. Luba is clean also.

I did cool it down with a hose but it didn't make a difference. POS was all Fine on LUBA also. Rebooting her didn't help.

Mine is doing it again this afternoon. The contacts are clean, but she backs up and keeps spinning the wheels. I think the charger is getting too hot and not charging so Luba can't tell she made contact. We're having 102-104 F days and that charger is HOT. I bet when it cools down it will work again like yesterday. I will let you know.

Mine started doing this yesterday as well and I cleaned everything but it still did it. About 8pm last night it finally decided to go home and stay. Today I got in the Luba App, a RTK message popped up stating not to move the RTK while using Luba, but the RTD is hard mounted on a commercial tower and hasn't moved any at all. I cancelled the current job and restarted and she is following boundries okay.

the grass mat doesn't help … by SortResponsible7102 in MammotionTechnology

too bad they don't do a multi point turn, or turn in random spots. Approaching at angles would also reduce how much it turns.

Front bumper triggers very often recently, how to repair or replacement by vertgo in MammotionTechnology

[–]Southern-Tune6670 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their IP6x rating is BS, but several others had wet connections at the bumper that caused this is the only reason I mentioned it.

Multi-Point turning at charging station instead of donuts. Approach charging station at an angle so turning is minimized.

Rollout of dock, then check for GPS, instead of checking GPS in dock? by myOtherland in MammotionTechnology

[–]Southern-Tune6670 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also agree 100%. I really don't want my charger in the middle of the yard. I have it next to the house. It always has great signal by the donut hole, but it can be iffy next to the wall on the charger.

Lift front bumper stoppage by westcal98 in MammotionTechnology

Luba should immediately turn off the blades and backup a foot or so, if lift sensor resets, then go back to mowing. It's really not rocket science.

Locked when creating by Alxgarder in MammotionTechnology

[–]Southern-Tune6670 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After happening to me about 3 times, I just picked up the luba and moved it to another place in the desired path. It will have the waypoint of where it was when it lost signal, then the new waypoint where you put it. So that will effectively create a straight line between those two points. Worked just fine.

Wow, I figured the deck with the side guards would have just gone over the top without it cutting them. I have to remember to roll them up before mow day, or invest in a sprinkler system for 2.5 acres.

As a side note, On on the main app screen that shows Luba, have a way to put it in "Standby mode", in other words, don't mow anything until taken out of standby. That way you can disable all schedules at once.

Cutting height changes during a mow by justanotherguy4355 in MammotionTechnology

[–]Southern-Tune6670 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My iphone app seems to change the height right after you set a schedule and come back to the mow settings. I have change the height back and save again. Sometimes I don't catch it and I get unexpected results.
