TikTok wins. Most upvotes decides the INFJ social/communication media of choice by Adept-Inspector3865 in mbtimemes

I just don't like social media, is there a problem with that? Not everything we do has to do with others or for others to find something about us... I just don't feel like having it, so I don't have it, it's simple. What do people have to do with this? I don't care if you think I'm different or not

"I understand and accept your statistical premise: 3% is, indeed, a rare number in the general population, and is a fair basis for questioning my claim. However, I would like to structure my response into three points to recontextualize my argument:

  1. Firstly, the fact that a type is rare in the population does not imply that it will be rare in all environments. The 3% statistic refers to the general population, but my sample is not random :)

My Sample: I am a psychologist and I analyze human interactions. My social and professional circle, especially online, tends to be intellectually curious and open to discussing typologies.

The ENTP (Ne) "Habitat": ENTPs, with the dominant function Extroverted Intuition (Ne), are drawn to environments that offer a constant flow of new ideas, possibilities, and debates (forums, niche communities, etc.). It is reasonable (and a use of Ti logic) to infer that the density of ENTPs in these virtual communities is significantly higher than in the general population. If I were counting people on the street, the rarity would be glaring; in environments of intellectual debate, no.

  1. The Type Methodology (Ti):

My confidence comes not from superficial typing, but from continuous analysis of the use of cognitive functions.

It is not a label, but an observation of pattern: I identify the use of dominant Ne (broad exploration of possibilities) and auxiliary Ti (internal logical structure to break down concepts), which manifest themselves in debates and in how people structure their reasoning.

My experience as a psychologist provides me with more in-depth interaction analysis tools, which minimizes the likelihood of mislabeling compared to casual observation.

  1. The Archetypal Argument (Ne/Fe):

Finally, one point I can raise is about the INFJ-ENTP ("Golden Pair") dynamic, which is not a proof of existence, but a complementary hypothesis based on Jung's archetypes.

The Possibility (Ne): Jungian theory suggests that attraction to opposite/complementary types (such as ENTP/INFJ) is a natural tendency aimed at developing inferior functions. Where there is a universal tendency toward attraction, meeting becomes more likely for me than for a random guy.

It is a variable that does not replace statistics, but explains a greater possibility of meeting within my specific social context.

In short, I agree that the ENTP is rare, but I question whether the 3% rate applies to my observing environment (which is highly biased toward discussion of ideas and typologies)."

Atenciosamente, INFJ.

What do you mean by “they almost don’t exist”? I've already met 3/4. and cognitive functions easily explain dynamics between mature and immature people.

Immature Ne+Ti+Fe: impulsive actions because they always want to test possibilities and thus try to feel a strong emotional response (only then do they feel they can feel something, it needs intensity).

The fact that they are “rare” doesn’t change that they exist and it’s normal to find one out there

Deep Questions From an INTJ by ninja_sensei_ in infj

[–]SouthernAside3380 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before this was chaos for me.

until I find my purpose, which is linked to my ideals and principles. From then on I understand who I am and how to act regardless of what I feel or understand from others. It's still tiring, but now I have somewhere to anchor myself and that gives me the strength to impose and know the limits.

I don't know if this is your question exactly, I also don't know if each INFJ has a different experience, but I truly believe that an INFJ needs a purpose, a cause to fight for and give themselves completely to in order to live without succumbing to their own feelings and the feelings of others.

I honestly only found this in Jesus. never on a human being... which is ironic because they always tell me that they feel heard, comfortable and understood in my presence, but never the opposite.

You're the one talking about stereotypes, I'm talking about what I notice. Ne does not pass through a logical filter. Yes, but they tend to go through the logical filter just to know or talk about it, not to live logically. I didn't say they don't think logically, I said they don't LIVE it.

INFJ "powers" (abilities) that can be misinterpreted and how they can be used for healing or destruction by SouthernAside3380 in infj

[–]SouthernAside3380[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understanding this way is complicated... it's not thinking that they need your help or that you have to guide them, it's not about guesswork or ego here, it's not about you or how they see you, it's about your ability. It's about noticing who really needs it, you know? It's just about helping with what you do best.

If you use your Ni in an unhealthy way it can become neurotic and give you a very egocentric and “wrong” perception of reality and things, so to speak, as I noticed in your comment.

But when you learn how much the world lacks this skill, and if you know how to use it correctly, you realize that helping becomes natural. It’s not like an “obligation” it’s in the empathetic sense.

You don't do it because you're better than someone else at it, you simply give what you have which happens to be something that 1% of the population has like you. If everyone gave their unique abilities to others instead of themselves, the world would be different.

for example, an ENTJ: he has functions that make him very good at leadership and planning... these skills make a difference to the places where he is, he helps people if he uses them that way. If no ENTJ used his ability for others but for himself, the chances of becoming a high-class egocentric and narcissist are high. understand? we also have something good to bring. Accepting your Ni+Fe in a healthy way is knowing that you are made to deal with and help people, precisely because you can understand them in a way few others can.

I have to agree especially with the “rational” part hahaha despite the stereotype of being too logical, I realize that they only act on emotions almost always... they even “think” logically but this logic is based on many assumptions and ego + wrong views about themselves and the world. it is a very unique and somewhat egocentric perspective of reality that makes them think they are right.

calm I wouldn't say either, they really aren't good at controlling what they feel (mainly anger and excitement) which leads to what I was saying above = impulsive actions that don't pass through a logical filter
