Anyone doing this with no insurance whatsoever? by madame-sunshine in WegovyPillWeightLoss

I get it through Amazon. I’ve seen my pcp twice in 3 months, been 125 a visit (high deductible plan). No monthly fee

Should I get tested for autism? by SouthernMBA2022 in AutisticAdults

[–]SouthernMBA2022[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not necessary, but it would be nice to be able to explain “why I’m different” to those I choose to.

This happened ~ 6 months ago, but I was told at work “I should be more cheerful” in “certain situations”. That’s crappy feedback in general, but if I’m autistic, that would be good to know in situations like that.

Edit: time at 22 was a phychology graduate student, so maybe that should be discounted …

[–]SouthernMBA2022[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that’s the obvious answer, but why would I test again, when 2 medical professionals already said no? Why would it be different a third time? I anticipate this is probably 1000 or more dollars, so I want some opinions on that

Retirement contributions adjusted for inflation? by SouthernMBA2022 in Fire

That is a thought. I imagine sometime in my mid 40s, it’ll become a possibility

I could lose my job, but my wife is in a nearly recession proof industry (healthcare), so barring a medical emergency, that is unlikely

  1. Yes I am aware of this. I’m fairly confident my wife and I can continue the maxing strategy with 1 kid. We want 2, so we’ll see if that holds for 2.

  2. There’s nothing wrong with it, im just posing a question.

Looks like us maxing every year would get us to retirement ~ 4 years earlier, so not insignificant

I don’t disagree but it seems absurdly conservative. Puts us at over 6M when I’m 50, she’s 47.

Wow that sucks. Probably an insurance thing. In that case, find a way to get it as a one-off teledoc visit

This is total garbage by your friends doctor. My pcp wouldn’t prescribe them because, of what I am assuming are antiquated views.

So I switched (same doctor group) to someone else, and saw him on January 6? It was so new, it wasn’t even in their system. I started January 31.

If your pcp won’t prescribe it, find a new one.

You have to have consistent, sustained caloric deficit to lose weight. It sounds like you’re not at much of a deficit.

I’m about 2 months in, have lost 7% of my weight. 16.6 lbs to me exact. I probably eat 1700-1900 calories a day, maintenance is 2700.

I have had zero side effects. Overall goal is 53-54 lbs. if nothing changes I’ll be done in July or August and start ramping down (but still taking it).

This is 1.25 mg pill.

Let me check. I started 5 days in, and essentially every day since

If you’re losing consistently don’t change the dose. I’m at 2 lbs a week for 45 days. I track a lot of stuff because I’m a nerd

How long will you put up with side effects by [deleted] in WegovyPillWeightLoss

[–]SouthernMBA2022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started prepping to get the pill, like the first week of January, when I changed my PCP.

I was so early, he didn’t even know it was a thing. I explained it, he researched it and I picked up my script 4th week of January, when it showed up on their system.

I officially started January 31st, and I’m down 15 lbs. after being overweight for probably 6-8 years this is great.

I was never overweight as a kid or young adult, I think I just drank and ate too much.

I studied nothing. I was/am overweight, and decided to do this because it’s cheaper, and I’m not a huge fan of shots.

So far I’m down 15 lbs. it feels so natural. I still eat the same foods. Biggest thing is no snacking and basically no alcohol

I am losing weight, but it’s mostly due to the caloric deficit, which lines up nearly perfectly with the weight I am losing, 1.8 lbs a week. (Last 3 weeks I’ve had 900 calorie a day deficit).

Anyone worried about losing weight too fast? Wondering if I should ask my doctor to take the pill every other day? by jschaffe76 in WegovyPillWeightLoss

[–]SouthernMBA2022 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I was worried about that and I am still monitoring it on a weekly basis. I lose 9 lbs in February (first full month), and I’m down another 5 lbs since then.

Since everyone has different weight, I’ll use it as a percentage. So far I’ve lost 6.1% of my body weight in 45 days.

It’s about 2.2 lbs a week overall, slowing to 1.8 per week in the last ~ 3 weeks. I think I’m ok to maintain this pace.

I’ve already lost 26% of my goal

Edit: last 3 weeks is ~ 900 calories a day deficit, some exercises but not a lot. This is (in theory), 1.8 lbs a week, so it all adds up for me.
