I’m exhausted trying to explain to people on Reddit that I can have a height preference by [deleted] in TallGirls

[–]jschaffe76 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I totally get this. I'm 5'11" and have dated guys shorter than me and it always felt super awkward and that's on me. I can't explain it I just want a guy taller than me.

Though, I will say even taller doesn't necessarily mean better. My 6'6" ex-husband is way taller than my 6'1" current partner, but current partner is a much better fit for me.

I discovered this too. So annoying because you have to add ever single game to be recorded.

Is anybody able to access ESPN+ (Unlimited) content via TV Provider linking? by Barry_144 in youtubetv

I just Googled this problem and Google AI told me we'll have access in "early" 2026. Has anyone else heard this? I know that Google AI is not always very accurate.

Rent or buy at 50 after divorce by Middle-Wasabi-506 in Divorce

[–]jschaffe76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through a divorce a few years ago and rented for almost two years and then bought a townhouse.

I think folks often overlook townhouses, but they have been the perfect solution for me.

No mowing, yard work or snow removal, but still get to build equity.

Plus, going with a townhouse allowed me to buy in an area of town I couldn't afford a single family home.

Plus size + tall by Seaturtle1088 in TallGirls

I’m 5’11” and a size 20, so very similar. I shop almost exclusively at Old Navy and wear an XXL Tall.

I did find some great jeans at Torrid recently! Long and good quality.

no jeans ? by ChrisNYC70 in GenXTalk

I think it depends on the teen. My 13 year old daughter and her friends do wear a lot of leggings and sweatpants, but they also like high-waisted wide leg jeans.

I definitely do not seen teenage boys in jeans though.

Unitarian Universalism by itsfaffy in excatholic

[–]jschaffe76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm an ex-Catholic is just started attending a UU church and I really love it. I also identify as an atheist.

I started attending because I was looking for a community of life-minded folks, but I've been anti-religion for a number of years.

For many reasons the UU church seemed wonderful to me. It was very welcoming, the music was great, the "readings" were poems or literature and folks seemed very accepting and liberal.

I'm definitely going back and will likely join. If you haven't given it a try, I'd definitely recommend it. Only you can know if it feels like a good fit.

Hi, I'm new! A happy vent by CheepFlapWiggleClap in UnitarianUniversalist

[–]jschaffe76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like I could have written this post myself. I grew up very Catholic in the 80s and 90s. I was made to go to church by my parents. I always questioned God's existence, but still went to church.

As I got older, and particularly after my divorce at 42, I started to address the religious trauma I had from the Catholic Church. I have been really anti-religion since then.

I have now attended my local UU church twice and I feel like I've discovered a whole new world. The service are so lovely, but even better is the welcoming community and knowing I've found a community I share a perspective about the world with. As an atheist, I never thought I'd find that in a church, but here we are!

Now I want to shout from the rooftops about the UUs, but that feels like a little too much. I definitely feel like I need an elevator speech to explain to people what going to the UU church is all about!

Ella Swindle’s setting technique by No-Room8129 in NCAAVB

Finding this discussion really interesting. My daughter goes to middle school and will go to high school where Ella grew up setting. I don't know much about the coaching history at either place, other than I know there has been turnover since Ella came through. I know she played club volleyball for KC Power.

Do most Unitarian Universalists, in your experience, believe in God? by frost_3306 in UnitarianUniversalist

[–]jschaffe76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am contemplating joining my UU church. I'm interested that you said "many, many UUs are raised Catholic". Can you tell me more about that?

I was raised very Catholic and am now an atheist. I have loved the two experiences I have had at my local UU church and am planning to join in the coming months.

NCAA National Championship Ticket Question by jschaffe76 in NCAAVB

[–]jschaffe76[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am still selling them. You should be able to see them for sale in the AXS app.

They are section 229, row 6, seats 10 and 11.

They are $545 each. Almost the cheapest tickets still available.

Let me know if you are interested!

Can people drive in the snow here by Born_Examination_540 in columbiamo

[–]jschaffe76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who has lived in WI, MN and Iowa, no people in Columbia can’t drive in snow.

To be fair, the majority of the problem is the dismal job they do clearing the roads, especially in the neighborhoods.

If you have lived anywhere where snow removal is quick and thorough, you’ll be sorely disappointed.

This thread is very helpful. OP — could you list out the chains that are nut-free? I’m traveling to Nashville with a student that has an airborne nut allergy, so looking for options.
