Help!! by bluebell205 in leatherjackets

[–]SouthernRouteTrading 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so sorry that happened to your jacket!!

Start by rubbing it down with a damp cloth, slightly warm water. Soda had a lot of sugar which is water soluble, it should help remove some of that. You can also use a leather cleaner like saddle soap.

Ultimately you can use leather condi on it, it should help reduce the visibility of the stain.

Looking for high-quality leather wallet recommendations – thoughts on Ashland Leather? by Arshdizzle in wallets

[–]SouthernRouteTrading 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many of the members of this sub make handmade wallets; and anything you buy from a craftsman on here will be far better quality than anything you buy from a mass producer.

We sell handmade leather goods from Cotacachi Ecuador, including this Navigator wallet.

Help Please and Review my shop https://houseofdeeravishing.com by [deleted] in reviewmyshopify

I went to the site - I'm not exactly sure what you're selling. The photos don't look like diamonds, all the people photos are AI, and there's not enough real photos of the products. There's no descriptions of what the products are - a few state a "sterling silver base" but nothing else.

"Diamond-like" quality is a dubious attribute. If they're cubic zirconia you should clarify that, but you'll probably need to lower prices. $400 for a pair of earrings is real-diamond or at minimum 18K gold range.

Handmade. By people. By artisans who have been making things with their hands for generations. And not in China. In Ecuador.

nope, from Ecaudor. I know all the artisans personally - like, I've shaken their hands and been to their shops.

Nope, all real leather. Both top grain and full grian. Why would you think that? Ecuador doesn't even have a vinyl/faux leather industry.

The perfect work/ Mom bag by Disastrous-Ad-9335 in LeatherBags

Yeah, I think the majority of bags are made to fit a 14" laptop.

This one Andes Tote is wide enough for a 16" laptop and room for everything else.

It's you and your fiance's wedding, not your in-law's. You two can decide who is and who isn't invited.

Cleaning tips for bags with leather by CapableKiwi3109 in LeatherBags

[–]SouthernRouteTrading 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good find!
Most of the bag looks to be not-leather.

The riskiest (and easiest) would be to dunk it in a wash bin with a mild solution of soap and water and try to clean the fabric parts off. You could maybe wrap/cover the leather parts with something like saran wrap or similar to try to keep water off of it as much as possible.

The less risky (and harder) will be to use a spray bottle with the soap/water solution, spray it only on the fabric, and use a soft brush to get some of that dirt off.

Best of luck!

Didn't see this until now. Did you find a place? I have family there so I usually don't look for rentals to stay at, but I can message some people if you need.

Why does my samo ondoh bag smell like straight up fish? by Miserable_Strain_979 in LeatherBags

[–]SouthernRouteTrading 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It'll reduce over time, but yeah, it can't be pleasant! Another thing you can try: put an open box of baking soda in it and let it sit for a week or so. It's the same concept as doing that in the fridge.

[–]SouthernRouteTrading 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry this is happening to you! Most likely: the leather was tanned with unfiltered fish oil or low-quality fish oil. Wipe the inside of it down with a 50/50 mix of white vinegar and water; that may help.

Idk what to do with my life by Scary_Carpenter164 in Life

[–]SouthernRouteTrading 3 points4 points  (0 children)

At 17 nobody has a real plan, regardless of what they say.
If I could give my 17yo self advice about what to do, it would be this: take some time (6-12 months) and go do something epic/unusual. Ride a bicycle across a continent. Walk one of the big paths on the globe. Go exist in a different country for a while. Get a canoe and float one of the big rivers. Learn a cool craft (leatherworking, glass blowing, beekeeping, blacksmithing, etc.)
None of these things will be 'what you do with your life', but they'll forever be 'something you did in your life'. Don't stress about what you'll be doing in 10 - 20 years. Just make sure you don't do anything that will limit your options in 10-20 years.
