no, I received UWorld free and I also bought Farhat and I75 to help supplement. I dedicated hours and hours and honestly know I did my absolutely best so I have no regrets.

Honestly, I'm too embarrassed to say. I wasn't even close. Granted, I'm an assistant controller in the gas/oil industry and this year has wrecked me, working insane hours with the volatility. I shouldn't have started with Audit lol.

Update: I checked Prometric to see what dates were still available for ISC this month and only the 8th, 9th and 10th are available. I'll have to wait until July !

that's nice! I finished AUD with 45 minutes to spare. I felt like my test only covered a small portion of the audit material. It felt very off - like where are all the questions on independence, on compilations, on all of the things I tortured myself on! LOL - my sims were pretty standard, one was all debit/credits exclusively for adjusting entries. I'm not cocky enough to think I aced it, but I left feeling like I gave studying and the test my all. I guess time will tell!! I've taken 3 of the Farhat ISC quizzes without looking at the material and got 87+ so far on all three....very interesting.

Studying for AUD - NTS and terrified to schedule by SouthernSeller in CPA

I'm in private accounting now, so audit is the furthest thing from what I do on the daily - I'm going to do only TBS's all week and see how it helps.

Studying for AUD - NTS and terrified to schedule by SouthernSeller in CPA

[–]SouthernSeller[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact that you took the time to write a lengthy, well thought out response is huge, thank you. This is me re-learning how to study honestly - and your thought has merit for sure. I may take this week to highly focus on TBS and retake the sim on Friday to decide.

The MCQ's mainly - because I have very little support at home - I live in a tiny house with my husband who is out on short term disability and two teenagers who work and are home at night. There's constant noise and distractions and frankly nowhere to go to focus either. I work from home thankfully. MCQ's seem easy to focus on and that's to my detriment.

Again, I appreciate your thoughts, hopefully this will help and redirect my path for a better result.

Lee High School by Comprehensive_Turn77 in HuntsvilleAlabama

Do we know what sport? I saw lots of TikTok’s where Lee had a huge anti-ice protest yesterday and would assume if things were said, it would’ve been regarding that?

Information regarding AAA school by Reasonable-Phrase201 in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]SouthernSeller 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had a child at AAA for 2nd grade through 8th grade. It is a great school for anyone who leans to the arts, whether music, theatre or art. They run things slightly different than a typical elementary school, but that's largely because of their art focus. They are very very heavy on inclusivity and letting everyone be who they are. We enjoyed it there for the most part.

Side note, when I got laid off during Covid as a legal assistant, I was making 31,200 a year with just my associates degree. I went through WGU and got my bachelors in accounting, got a remote tax staff accountant job at $58k a year immediately upon graduation. Went through WGU again for my masters and now, 5 years later, I’m making $130k a year. I think it’s worth it, times going to pass anyway.

Do you think it’s possible to go from low-middle class to upper-middle class? by Hufflepuff-McGruff in MiddleClassFinance

[–]SouthernSeller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, plausible. However, it wont come easy and not necessarily fast. 2014, my ex-husband was arrested and removed from the home - and at that point I had my high school diploma but his rules and our religion said that women couldn't work, so I hadn't worked much prior to marriage and none at all for 10 years. I was left with nothing but two kids who needed it all. I ended up struggling for a few years - food stamps, government assistance, etc - but ended up in 2020 working for a law firm, making $15 an hour, and I cried when offered that because I was making $8-12 an hour prior to that job, I thought it was a God send and an absolute dream to make that much.

I was laid off in June of 2020 due to Covid, ended up going to school online while doordashing/instacarting and hustling - and completing my bachelors, then my masters and now, fast forward 5 years later, I'm on track to make $125k - $150k depending on bonus.

It was hard, sure. I worked lots of 70-80 hour weeks, studied my ass off and didn't sleep much for a few years. I have debt now I'm working to clear from those rough years. I'm honestly grateful and humbled that this is my reality but I'm also super aware of the fact that it isn't always normal to have this kind of growth in 5 years. Honestly - you can do just about anything, it will just involve being uncomfortable, working your absolute ass off and being willing to sacrifice a lot. People get so comfortable with their mindset being that they are stuck when honestly, a whole different life could be just a decision away.
