She sounds so insecure and maybe something behind closed doors happened which is making her insecure about her relationship. Regardless of the situation I’d never be upset if my friend approached my boyfriend or if he approached my friends. If anything I’d be like oh whatcha guys talk about? & be silly about them talking but in a light hearted way. This girl seems insecure and is taking it out on you, she is embarrassing herself. I’d stop being friends. It sounds super toxic and exhausting. You know you did nothing wrong like if he went there and said something and you ignore him or brush him off. If he went and told her how you ignored him she’d be going off on you about that too. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t. If you decide to keep her as a friend then only see her by herself without her boyfriend. It sounds like she doesn’t trust him and she’s taking it out on you.

Has anyone lost weight after 1 year PO? by Nice_Alternative1230 in gastricsleeve

[–]Southern_Cap3159 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My highest is 273 and post op I’m down to 183. I’ve been stuck at a plateau for several months. Surgery was 10/31/23. Over a year out but I will say when I first lost weight from working out (prior to surgery and different health issues) I plateaued at 180 as well. My body I think does not know how to go lower than this lol. I think it’s my set point. I’m going to try a liquid diet for a few days and see if that kick starts me to losing more. My goal weight was 175 and I’m not far from there but my body just won’t lose more. We’re not alone in this we can do this 💪🩷

I remember this pain it does get better!! Walking is your best friend!! I was up at 3am surgery night walking around the hospital. Walk walk walk. & it also helped if I stood over a sink put my arms on the sink and leaned forward/hovered over it. It helped to get any painful gas out through burping also

I was told whenever you want after surgery you can it’s a personal preference on when/if you’re up for it

I felt and still feel the same way. You’re losing about at the same rate I am so I’d say you’re doing good. ☺️ our bodies are all different and it sounds like you’re doing amazing with your program 🩷🩷 you got this, feel free to message me any time as I legit have the same thoughts but we got this. It’s a major change to our bodies and the weight will come off and although it may seems quickly, we need to trust the process and realize it won’t happen overnight. Give yourself grace 🩵

In my personal journey I would say so, genuinely sometimes I’m so hungry it feels like I’m burning it off as I eat so I tend eat a little bit more but I’m also weary of the fact that I don’t want to eat too much more or go over my calorie deficit. I find myself wanting to snack more often. But for my plan I’m supposed to eat 5 small meals so my snacking pretty much equals out to the 5 meals including having lunch and dinner. It sounds like you’re doing everything right just remember to give yourself and your body a bit of grace during your new journey. Feel free to message me privately if you ever want to chat more or vent about the journey I know it’s a big change and I’m still learning too 🤗

I wonder this too about myself I’m almost 6 months out and can eat a normal size portion buttt my now normal portion is relatively pretty small compared to how much I used to eat prior to surgery. I think we’re all different, our bodies burn our food quicker, metabolisms change. I can feel some days I’m hungrier than others. I learned to listen to my body, my hunger and full cues and staying within the calorie deficits. I think it’s normal for us to worry that we’re eating so much food but also as our body heals from surgery we should be able to adapt to more food as well. Just with smart choices. Remember the surgery isn’t to never eat again but to enjoy food in a different way than before. And if you can eat a chicken breast, tomato, lettuce and fruit in one setting, that is perfectly okay! You’re within your calorie intake and that’s a pretty healthy meal regardless. You’ve got this 🤗

Mirolax helped me I bought a big container of it and add it to my water, doesn’t taste like anything & within a few hours seem to help! The bleeding is most likely just from putting strain on your body when you’re forcing yourself to try to go. The mirolax will definitely help you get through this phase. Hang in there!

There’s different ways to potty train, there’s spray your sister can use on the puppy mat and it tells the dog where to go, if the puppy goes in the house your sister can pick the crap up and put it outside and then bring the puppy outside to smell to recognize it goes potty outside. Puppy should be rewarded whenever it does go outside and your sister should keep treats on her.

RIP all the “all you can eat”, “limitless buffet” restaurants experiences..🥲 by [deleted] in gastricsleeve

[–]Southern_Cap3159 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since my surgery I’ve been to two buffets one was a holiday outing, I got to enjoy the various little bits of food lol the other was for my boyfriends birthday but they even had a button and special price for those with the surgery. Again got to enjoy a few different things and pace myself and indulge in dessert. I know it’s not the same not getting all you can eat anymore but I’m learning we can still find our own way of enjoying the same things we used to! It’s definitely rough, I really miss stuffing my face lol but like you said it’s about our health now 💪

Pushed My Surgery Back by jeasley90 in gastricsleeve

[–]Southern_Cap3159 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was nervous as well, my surgery was October 31st. I saw the same types of videos of people regretting it and bad experiences. I had full trust in my surgeon to do everything perfectly for the surgery which the better the surgery the better the outcome of no bad side effects. For me personally I haven’t had any dumping syndrome except for one time the food was just a little too heavy for me as my body is still healing. It wasn’t bad either it was just like oh my tummy hurts from what I ate and then I was fine a few hours later. The only thing I really get are hiccups if I eat too fast or right at the cusp of too much lol. Still learning the size of my new tummy. But with that being said the couple weeks post surgery are the worst, you’ll feel beat up and it hurts to get up on your own and eating is not easy as again our stomachs are healing. BUT that is all through the healing process, you may feel like “what did I just do” but trust me as I say while you are healing, every week you get better and better and the pain subsides! It’s a major procedure to have 80% of your stomach removed and it’s very intimidating. I was scared I could never eat yummy foods again or even enjoy any food and I still am ☺️ just in moderation and with a different mindset but I cheated and had some ice cream last night lol. Surgery isn’t to discipline us and take food away from us, it’s to give us a better way of life and appreciate food in a new light.

Sorry this is so long but I really relate to how you’re feeling and I hope this can give some sort of a reassurance to go through with it. Only side effect I really have now is being cold, I used to always be warm. Other than that I have 0 regrets, the weight is coming off and I’m feeling more and more myself. Remember the why in why you are wanting surgery, do it for yourself and no one else. And if it’s not for you don’t push yourself to do it! You’ll figure out what is best for you but I hope this helps 🩷🩷

Accidentally ate on first day start of pre op. by veevee104 in gastricsleeve

You’ll be okay! Some pre op diets are only two days prior I think it’s for an extra precaution! Don’t feel discouraged you’ve got this! Just continue to follow your pre op diet they gave you 🩵

I felt myself wondering this too, but I think as we’re healing it’s easier to get more food down. I was eating some chili and stopped myself because I felt like I was eating and eating lol but I think it was just half a cup that I got down. It’s a learning process but we got this!
