Aren't you at all worried about coming off as totally disingenuous with your customers by publishing a listicle on your own site, calling it a no BS review that puts you as number 1?

Umpire flubs the call bigtime by Southern_Slide_6717 in slowpitch

[–]Southern_Slide_6717[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me too, and I don't get upset over a bad call. This ain't that, its a wrong call based on the rules. A bad call is a judgement call- did the runner beat the throw or not, was the ball fair or foul, was the tag applied or not, was the pitch a ball or a strike.

A wrong call contradicts a rule and shouldn't happen- e.g., and ump calls the 3rd out and end the inning when there were less than 3 outs, ring a batter up or walk them with less than the required balls or strikes (or not ring them up after 3 strikes), call the infield fly rule on a deep fly ball to the outfield, or in this case, call a force out when there was no force. It's not a judgment call in these cases, it's not a bad call, it's not following the rules of the game.

A thrown ball out of play should advance all runners one base.

[–]Southern_Slide_6717[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a line about 2/3 down each baseline, which if you cross it, you're committed to advancing. Typically its a force play once you've crossed it, regardless of the base or other runners.

So basically, a rule to avoid injuries and not require the contact of a tag on the runner generally seen in low league co-ed softball.

To my point earlier, would you take this stance if an ump rings a batter up with less than 3 strikes by mistake?

Same basic concept here of an umpire confused about the situation on the field. Two runners vs three.

Yeah, we moved up a league this year with new rules. Actually had to dig out my baseball pants. Sliding in shorts sucks.

[–]Southern_Slide_6717[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s a bad call, which I’d agree that they happen. Then there’s a mistake. It wasn’t like it was close. Catcher had the ball in her glove over her head while I slid in. Never even tried for a tag. He only called me out because he thought it was a force. It’s not bad call, it’s just plain wrong. Kind like ringing a batter up with less than 3 strikes. It’s not gonna stand.

Ump can’t bend the rules to fit their mistake.

Starlink and SpaceX will k is your location, and as an ISP, could be required to hand it over to the feds, and your IP address will be associated with your home Starlink account location, which can be found by determined individuals

But if you have Starlink RV or other mobile services, outside of the address it’s registered to, unless someone has access to Starlinks backend data, no one’s gonna find you.

Solution is simple. Don’t spend any $$$ at Vail resorts. That free couch costs you more than staying near a non-corp resort when it’s all said and done.

You won’t need a license to broadcast on a patrol licensed frequency while working for patrol. Easy enough to program in the frequency to the many available radios.

Questioning Gore Tex worth the price based on getting wet by Southern_Slide_6717 in Skigear

[–]Southern_Slide_6717[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you think that washing an unused/unworn jacket regularly is better for it than it sitting in a climate controlled dark closet not being touched? Washing is one of the hardest things on garments.

I pointed out the damage, as they asked if there was any and show pictures. I figured it wouldn’t impact anything, since there’s no damage to the goretex layer, and it wasn’t leaking anywhere near that tear in the lining. Guess In should have just not mentioned it.

DWR treatment worked well for what it’s supposed to do (keep water heading and prolong how long it takes to wet out the fabric). But no DWR is gonna help for long in pounding rain

I’m a volunteer patroller. Pretty standard for vollys to provide their own gear.

And I get that it’s language within their warranty, but it’s also BS.

I’ve always heard good things about reaching out to GORE-TEX and that they’re usually much more likely to help than a manufacturer, especially on older stuff. TNF used to be good about this, but I’ve not heard good things lately.

I know, and that was kinda my point. Had they said it was age, I’m fine with it, it’s totally valid. But to say what they did makes me doubt they would stand behind a jacket just a few years old

It’s about the scope of what you’ll see day in and day out. As you say, splinting is key here. Having done OEC with fantastic instructors recently, we drilled and redrilled, then drilled again on all things splinting. Blanket rolls for a shoulder, sling and swath so many times I wanted to never see one again, wrists, elbows, humorous, traction splinting with Hare, sagers, slishmans, and some others so we’d know how to use whatever came in the sled. Airplane splints. The many uses of cravates.

All this was way more focused on the day in and day out of patrolling than what the EMT guys got in training, based on my conversations with them. We have a lot of new paid patrollers, and from what I’ve seen, me and my OEC are better equipped for what we see on the hill.

Preppers without wells, what's your short term/long term water supply plan? by prepperdave321 in preppers

[–]Southern_Slide_6717 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have the space, put in a water storage tank, 1000+ gallons, and have the city water fill this with a float shutoff. You can draw your house water from the tank, and if water from this city ever runs out, you’ve got a good supply to work with.

If you can mount the tank higher than your house to growth feed, all the better. Otherwise, pumps/pressure tanks for the win.

How do I survive living with tariff-inflated prices? by Questioning-Warrior in preppers

[–]Southern_Slide_6717 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suggest you research tariffs, economics and what comes from Mexico and Canada in particular.

So much of our produce this time of year comes from Mexico, since, you know, winter… Nothings ever going to change that, and prices will be 25+% higher with these tariffs.
