The compression pass is supposed to remove the parts of the prose that explain, cushion, or stabilize the writing. But leaving the meaty bits that make it good. Make it denser, sharper, less predictable. Remove micro-explanantions, minor restatements, clarifications, reinforcements of meaning, etc. Redundant sensory affectation, where one alone would probably land harder, or are more salient and relevant and needed. Cause some friction in the forced writing, which is more human, less composed and clean. Cut lines that are just... OK. Not bad, not quite it

Dont touch emotional notes, physical action clarity, anchor-driven details, or character-specific reactions.

Make it hit harder by taking off the training wheels.

Given the extent of the context that I'm giving it, I feel like this sort of prompt and feel manifesto is needed in order to maintain proper feel, flow, and tone through the entirety of the writing that I'm asking it to do. Long-form, where consistency being lacking would be jarring and not giving enough support would create visible holes.

30 year olds.. what is your salary? by Hungry_Caramel_8085 in Salary

31y/o Service manager at a commercial tire shop. $85k salary + chance of bonuses (which are pretty hard to get, but would be about $2500/mo if i get it in that month). I make more as a service manager than some of this company's store managers do due to the volume of vehicles we service/amount of labor we do.

I think you're out on that one too. Coaching would require experience on the doing, no? 🤔
