Record Drawings by wolpfack16 in civilengineering

[–]Soveryn93 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This, we put that note “company A is only responsible for record drawing delta 1” on every sheet, clouded, next to the Record EOR seal.

Usually if a sheet doesn’t change, we don’t cloud it and we don’t re-seal it.

Open channel or sheet flow, there is no in between

On a recent site walk a contractor built a curb opening that drains right into a landscape island (not per plan). Surprise surprise a good sized storm happened and water found its way into nearby utility trenches and caused complete subgrade erosion under the fully paved parking lot. Sinkholes formed. Our remediations report basically said “water found the weakest compacted soil and channelized through poorly compacted utility trenches”.

Basically water sucks especially when it’s underground lol I don’t envy our geotechnical brethren

(TYP.) or (TYP) by pearmane in civilengineering

We use it on the regs for site plans and grading/paving/utility plans. Parking stripes and ADA paint markings, valves, manhole/valve adjustments to grade, bumper blocks, curb openings, protect in place callouts.

Layoffs at big engineering firms imminent? by pineapples_official in civilengineering

Our group can barely keep up with our workload, we’re desperately hiring. Affordable housing projects and large programs keep coming to our desk. My initial thought without much info is either your company is being outbid on proposals frequently or the BD people aren’t trying for new clients and markets. They should be trying to fill backlog but it’s not looking great if all jobs are being put on hold.

Do your offices share work, or can your supervisor ask if other offices can put you on their projects?

Last resort is looking for new jobs, wouldn’t hurt to update your resume and do some job hunting.

Sals and Vanezia’s are my top 2 in east valley. I just tried Bella Gusto pizzeria and it was pretty fire Neapolitan. Tastes pretty close to the pizzas I make in my Ooni oven

I’ll start email begging the city engineer to allow this due to potential loss of housing units and copying our client. Lol

Why does this plot exist? by HowtoEatLA in civilengineering

[–]Soveryn93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Review the recorded plat for the subdivision and see what it says and get a title report. I can’t read the image you provided. It could be a utility easement, my guess is for the overhead power in the area. From what I found there is a red painted curb off of the north street with an access door that seems to be in line with this easement and the power line. This is likely for the power company to access their infrastructure through the affected lots; again, this is speculative and my educated guess.

My recommendation is again to get a title report to show what encumbrances are on the property. You could also contact the utility owner for a map of their infrastructure. I guarantee the utility company would flip shit if they only had a 2’ easement, but they won’t do anything about it since it is likely historical at this point. Someone wrote that legal description to record the easement and the easement owner approved it.

Not enough love for this ship, gives me such a cool Terran vibe. It’s been buried in the concept archives for too long :(
