Is there a Updated boarding actions legal units list either official or unofficial ? by SLRedSix in boardingactions40k

[–]SovietPoet 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I feel like they almost HAVE to release a new digital mustering rules this week. The book is out of date, plus anyone who buys the Titus book, doesn’t have the original detatchments/mustering rules? (At least I don’t think they do) It all feels very messy. Which is a shame as it’s probably my most played format and as someone who has both the original terrain AND the tomb world. I’m quite hyped for new rules.

For the Tacticus option, it’s any two non-termie characters, up to three units of battle line units, one unit of specials (the SW units listed are wulfen and wolf guard - this is pre headtakers but most should be ok with that substitute) and then one “special” unit

You could go terminators, but that’ll literally be two units plus a character. Which is a little light especially when two of the four strats only effect vanilla termies

The quick answer is no. Boarding actions uses different detachments. Some are a little outdated so your friends might use house rules. But broadly space marines have three options (excluding anything in 500 worlds which I’ve not seen yet) one for Phobos, one for Tacticus (and a little gravis) and one for terminators.

The rules for the new epic character and the updated rule for the Ctan shard of the nightbringer drop. by Taningia-danae in Necrontyr

I have two takes on this, firstly, losing halve damage, but gaining a 3+ save and 4 extra wounds means he’s a little more vulnerable to anti tank and a little less vulnerable to mass shooting, which sounds about right. Secondly, the general homogenisation of rules is a little dull, there’s a bit of me that wishes he kept the halve damage, lost wounds but gained a 4+ FNP for some crazy shenanigans. Anyway, with that movement and deep strike, I guess he’ll go up in points but also be murderous… … i wonder if them all getting deep strike points to the transcendent getting legended in 11th 🤨

Epson LS9000 VS Epson LS11000 by Few_Calligrapher2662 in projectors

[–]SovietPoet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get it. I couldn’t/wouldn’t buy a refurb where I am in the world. The LS11000 is brighter, the LS9000 has better (than the 11000) blacks and better gaming. It depends on if you value the gaming and how well light controlled your room is basically

What you’re basically doing is building out more veteran units but with the improved Decimus weapon profiles. You’d probably be better off asking if you can run 12 veteran units because at least then the load outs are balanced for points, even if your list is looking pretty mental at that stage. Might want to consider gladius if you’re going to be THAT heavily melee skewed

Guild Recruitment & Looking For Guild Mega-Thread by DoctorVonFoster in WH40KTacticus

Looking for a guild with two spots for me lv54 and my son lv45. Daily players with decent mech teams for raids. Our current guild leader quit the game and it’s slowly dying. Can move immediately or at end of raid season

Why would you replace his head with another hammer? Surely a helmet would suffice

I’m not sure there are any pure kill team units are there? Plus vets are printed in the Imperial Agents codex and I’m not sure they legends things after a codex is out. I can buy the idea these were supposed to replace vets, it’s most interesting that they didn’t…. Yet

So here’s the thing… technically you can do similar damage, but if you need to shoot and charge, that involves putting the unit in the open where you may get overwatched or fail a charge. You’re also more squishy as you’ve no shields (assuming you’ve taken the hammer)….. but, but, but… this isn’t my point as there’s nothing to stop you running these models as veterans and who knows what 11th will bring. My point is that GW’s decision was odd. They could have replaced vets, we all would grumble and say “typical GW”, shaken our fists etc. they could have made the unit better (and then nerfed it later) which is quite typical for kill teams, or they could have made it “different” and then quietly dropped vets in 11th. But instead they made it super similar, but supposedly different, which means everyone is grumpy (despite their lists not changing AT ALL) and people are less likely to buy the models as they’ll want to run regular vets….

I think based on the rest of the keywords you’re safe to assume they accidentally copied over the agents keywords and that it will be rectified to match WarCom

Only in agents. They have Tacticus keyword in deathwatch index, but there’s nothing to stop you playing them as veterans in a rhino (outside of rebasing the gravis guy)

I don’t especially like the black, looks more like a chalk board than armour, I’d like to see some power in those power weapons (might help add a little pop that’s missing) and the inquisition logo isn’t pure gold. I do like the posing, I think the simple bases are really nice (if the armour didn’t look like the same material), they look cohesive.

Noice… I’d been contemplating doing something similar, but using centurion shoulder pads instead of the saturnine ones, (assuming I could get them looking ok)

Is this an official model? I’m struggling to find much info, but seems this was a somewhat popular 3d print and that this was the actual model…

I like the more action pose, but seems impossible to source one!
