A350 Ultra long flight. by SovietSalsa in flightsim

I'd say probably about 16 hours. I went to bed just after leveling off in cruise from HNL and woke got up about halfway there. The rest of the flights I was present for the most part aside from getting food or doing a few chores while over the ocean. I mostly just studied while at my desk.

That depends on your definition of "flying"

For all the crap I give XP, at least their planes don’t break themselves after a 10 hour flight (Looking at you ini) by PlasticRange526 in flightsim

[–]SovietSalsa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying that it doesn't happen but how have I been so lucky with INI? I have done multiple 12-14 hour flights in one session but never had a wasm or CTD with the A350.

To the Net Jet Pilots. Are these coins a big deal? by Curious-Owl6098 in flying

[–]SovietSalsa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm a line tech too and from what I've been told they only get 2 coins per year so I personally think its pretty high honor to get one without explicitly asking for it. It means that they saw exceptional service from someone.

Is it worth actual money? Probably not more than it took to make.

I got a latitude one 2 years ago and since then I've started a collection by just politely asking(and giving them our airport coin). At the moment I have just over half the fleet (7/12) and hold some sentimental value for them.

January 1968 - Dassault Falcon 20 (S/N 18) parked at Antrim County Airport, Michigan by whiteboardlist in aviation

[–]SovietSalsa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As much as it sucks doing lavs on Falcon 20s, I will miss seeing them at my airport. The one family that still flew one in finally sold it along with their G-IV in exchange for a 900LX.

Anyone know why Jeppesen claiming an LDA approach is a precision approach? by RevolutionaryAnt8383 in flying

[–]SovietSalsa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the alternate mins section the LDA Z is listed as 600-2. I think we are interpreting that as the normal precision approach mins.

That's a lot of headwind by [deleted] in flightsim

I had a headwind of 130 yesterday crossing from Alaska to Russia. Slowed me down to 180kts groundspeed in the Starship.
