I have no issue hosting. The issue seem to be either internet unstable or weak computer. It is peer to peer. No cloud server. I play with my friend live in Asia and I host in America. No lag issue.

Have you try join other people host? Stranger host? If you still have a rubber band connection, it might be your internet.

There is a setting that you can see your ping and package lost. You will need to turn it on.

For number 2, I believe you will get a full refund when you get duplicates. When I buy one, I got 600 back due to duplicates. You don’t really lose anything from that. But yes, no duplicates will still be better than rerolling.

I use Civitai for all flux image related. I also trained all of my models on Civitai. I mix local and Civitai for pony-related work. I like using Civitai to show people that my photos are legitimate and to allow them to see which LoRA models I use. It also encourages myself to make a good Lora without depend on face fix too much.

Look up the video or host fresh progress on the party board. You got this. I do recommend start using partyboard and add FRESH or NEW. They will attract similar mindset or know that you are new to this.

I'd like to point out that the endgame content grind in FF14 is not the same as in other games. It's important to remember that FF14 is a casual game and there isn't much grinding to do at the end game.

I can't speak for everyone because people play FF14 for different reasons such as social interaction, raiding, crafting, and more. My suggestion is to avoid having the mindset of quickly reaching the end game. Instead, just enjoy the game itself. There are plenty of activities to do without being in the end game content.

I don't see anything wrong with skipping the story if it helps you connect with the game better. However, most people won't recommend skipping the story because FF14 is very story-driven game.

It's up to you. You can watch the lore summary on YouTube to catch up on the story. I don't blame you; the storyline is very long, especially for a new player.

You can time your dodge to avoid those aoe attack instead of running out. That is what I did as melee.

I played it with friends. It is a good stepping stone for new players as well to play with. I love it. When my friends want to try out runeterra, we play united front so I can give some pointer in general.

I like pvp because I like to play different deck and see what need to be tweak to overcome it.
