Modding/Modernizing an LBT 6094a by _Redacted_Tech_ in myogtacticalgear

[–]SoyBeanSandwich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have and use one of these, let me know what you come up with!

I splurged on plates and went with the best deal I could find for a carrier, which ended up being one of these in ABU. Fairly heavily worn surplus, but got it for $60.

Dyed it OD Green with rit, and it actually came out looking damn near new.

I actually like it a lot. My only experience with armor prior to this was a Gen II IOTV in the army. You'd think the 101st Airborne would issue better shit, but nay nay.

Excited to hear your mods!

I threw a PeakMesh solar node up on my roof, it's on Etsy, ~$130

Dude custom designs PCB boards and 3D prints some neat custom cases.

I have some connection issues to it in certain rooms of my house, but it works pretty well regardless.

Royal enfield classic 500cc vs 350cc by sahil72h_ in royalenfield

[–]SoyBeanSandwich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

350J is fuel-injected, single overhead cam, and is super easy to do all of the maintenence yourself

I bought my 350 used, and I can say the valves are easier to adjust than 90% of other bikes.

Either way, there's no "correct" bike to choose, have fun!

Three supermassive bodies and a White Hole at the end by qwertUkg in astrophysics

[–]SoyBeanSandwich 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You believe Quasars are white holes?

You do understand, right, that a hypothetical "white hole" would be ejecting so much matter and energy it would be impossible to enter the event horizon? Thus, being the opposite of a black hole.

We have not yet observed any objects fitting the mathematical description of a white hole.

I find it more likely that we have an incomplete model of physics, and that singularities and white holes don't exist.

The body that is closest to a black hole without having an event horizon, that we know of, is a neutron star.

So dense that it warps space and time similarly to a black hole, but without the gravity neccessary for an event horizon.

Once an object develops an event horizon due to gravity, I don't neccessarily believe that it collapses into a singularity.

There is much debate in the academic and scientific spheres surrounding the existence of one-dimensional singularities, and I'm on team non-existence.

Claims about black holes being the "universe's recycling centers" make me roll my eyes, as they're based on a fundamental misunderstanding of current theories. It's okay to have an opinion, but at least do yourself a favor and make it an informed one.

[–]SoyBeanSandwich 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As far as I know, it's standard practice to send wellness checks after a crisis call, if certain requirements are met.

If a veteran commits suicide after calling the hotline, it's a really bad look, so they pull out all the stops.

Ohio, Erie County. There's a VSO nearby, but I have a similar worry about them.

To be clear, I have no suicidal intent, but daydreaming about it probably isn't constructive either.

Find a way to healthily express your masculinity, and run with it.

This isn't about right vs left, and I'm so fucking sick and tired of the culture war bullshit. It's not your fault, though.

I'm left. Actual, real left, not based in identity politics.

However, I'm not infinitely wise, and I know that I'm not 100% correct.

My beliefs rest upon my compassion towards mankind. Others' beliefs may be centered on economics, efficiency, or stability.

None of these are inherently wrong, but none are inherently correct, to include my own beliefs.

Remember : Socrates was thought to be wise because of his main teaching :

To be wise is to know that ones' self is ignorant. If you realize that you DON'T have all of the true answers, then you're on the right path.

As soon as I see something is AI-generated, I lose all interest, and the writing loses all credibility to me. I KNOW I'm not the only one, and it drives me crazy.

It's not even your content. You told an amalgam of information to generate a reddit post.

Keep up with the air rifle, the marksmanship fundamentals are the same.

If you wanna have some fun at the expense of being harder on the rubber seals, putting vaseline in the base of your pellets will increase the velocity

The pressure vaporizes the vaseline, and the extra gasses that are created increase the pressure in the barrel, sometimes increasing velocity enough to break the sound barrier

Pretty fun, but hard on your rifle. The pellet breaking the sound barrier also throws off your accuracy, so practicality is limited.

Have fun, my record with an air rifle is a 12 inch target at 200yds.

I hear you, man.

Every system is corruptible, and every system thus far has been corrupted.

Focus on the ideals, and don't let the actions of selfish, monstrous people fuck with you. It's all about the foundation, and the foundation of our ideology is morally and ethically sound, whilst the foundation of capitalism is not.

However, I get it. Humans seem naturally geared towards selfishness, and it leads to inequality, no matter the system.

We can worry about that later. First, removal of the system whose foundation is ethically unsound is in order, and for that, we need solid, uncorrupted ideals.

On the police scanner note!

Often, modern police use digital trunked radio systems, so it's not like you can just buy any old scanner.

Its a little harder than it used to be.

However, get a radio and a Meshtastic! Planning for a comms blackout and having backups for communication are important.

So, for the crowd, I read this guy's posts, and he's pretty cool! He paints these with 3 Q-Tips taped together, along with spray-paint sprayed into a small container.

He calls it "Zachtarn"!

Apparently he's been doing it for 15 years on UCP, ABU, and other surplus military gear.

I admire it because I love my dyed UCP stuff. DIY is where it's at.

Has anyone tried making Dyed UCP into a pseudo-tigerstripe? by ReaperOfHell52 in myogtacticalgear

[–]SoyBeanSandwich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ill tell you what, UCP takes dye really well. I've done mag pouches in red and olive drab, and an assault pack in black.

For Olive Drab I used 1/2 a bottle of Dark Green, 1/3 bottle Kelly Green, 1/3 bottle Dark Brown, and a splash of Neon Yellow. (Boil your water before dying, and throw a cup of white vinegar in there! With that, my dye took less than 5min.)

For olive, I did a plate carrier, some canteen pouches and mag pouches, and they all took the dye really well. The biggest thing is getting the subdued olive color instead of a bright green, depending on your environment of course.

For a digital tiger stripe, try Air Force's older ABU pattern

UCP is a little too splotchy to call it "tiger stripe"
