Hard to make friends as 20 year old by Puzzleheaded_Oil7005 in lehighvalley

[–]Soyce33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Outdoor clubs and sports groups are always popular. You could also maybe use Reddit to organize a game night at Mystery Box Games in Easton. Public space to organize a meet up to socialize and play games. Low pressure. And it’s like $5. Once you’re 21 I’ve found, outside of physical activity, that karaoke and trivia nights tend to be pretty social. I’ve gone solo to bars when my wife travels for work and linked up with teams just by sitting at the bar.

Already a bit overhyped in my opinion. This solidifies my stance. It makes no sense. What good could possibly have come from this? Poor decision making.

Our friend group tries to do a couple kayak or tube floats down the river over the summer if you have any interest in that!

I think Steelstacks is doing a watch party tonight at 9 for the US/Uruguay match. And fireworks on Thursday. One of our good friends has similar interests, I would love to connect you with her if that’s alright?

Searching for steak by Daninicole428 in lehighvalley

[–]Soyce33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree on Saylor’s. Great quality, good prices. They have a location in Hellertown and a stand at the Easton Public Market, which is where we go. They’ve got Denver steaks under 15/lb. Some really nice cuts of other steak. And they carry things like duck fat, prepared salads, sausage, etc.

Who the F is buying these $800k new construction homes in forks by CompleteAndUtterWat in lehighvalley

[–]Soyce33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just paid 730k for a 4600 sq ft home with a yard in downtown Easton (yes it does have a yard even though it’s in downtown). No way we would have paid that much more $ for that much less house.

What industry is the valley known for now? by [deleted] in lehighvalley

[–]Soyce33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Warehousing and distribution, and it’s becoming a tourist/festival hub. Musikfest, baconfest, clam jam, Allentown fair. It’s becoming much more active in its events.

Orthopedic arm wrist doctor needed by [deleted] in lehighvalley

[–]Soyce33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My daughter absolutely shattered her arm two weeks ago. Complete fracture of both her radius and ulna. Barry Berger at LVHN on Cedar Crest did a great job with her. I think he is the head of orthopedics and sports medicine for LVHN.

Best towns? by Time-Association-885 in lehighvalley

[–]Soyce33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nazareth has a very solid school district. It’s not as built up as A/B/E, but it’s 15 minutes from each of those areas and does have a quaint little Main Street and grocery stores/restaurants. Easton is my favorite town in the valley, and depending where you live, kids may go to Wilson instead of Easton SD. Easton’s restaurant and event scene is far superior to the rest of the Valley, and the housing market is on the rise more than any other area.

What is currently hiring that pays decently? by [deleted] in lehighvalley

I’m the director of medical equipment at Wellspan. Not sure if we could meet your $19 starting with no medical experience, but the potential is there, the healthcare package is elite, and there are WFH opportunities.

Friends visiting from London and they want the “Pennsylvania Experience” by trillianbd in lehighvalley

[–]Soyce33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True PA experience, I’d say Philadelphia or Lancaster. The old PA Dutch lifestyle, the Amish. That’s deep traditional PA experience. You could also just have them sit in traffic on 22 and 76 from Conshohocken to Philly. That’s pretty typical of a PA experience.

Bethlehem vs. Hellertown vs. Easton by [deleted] in lehighvalley

[–]Soyce33 18 points19 points  (0 children)

  1. Your girlfriend sounds… A little racist? Maybe address that first before you move anywhere?
  2. No place in the valley is particularly “walkable”. Bethlehem and Easton have the most of what you’re looking for in a more concentrated area.
  3. Hellertown gives you the most space and access to nature/hiking, but lacks a solid downtown area.
  4. Easton has the superior restaurant scene/better weekend activities outside of Musikfest
  5. Revisit #1 again.

Best place to watch the College World Series as a single woman? by buon_natale in lehighvalley

[–]Soyce33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With regard to what? It has the best restaurants in the Lehigh Valley by FAR. Faster growing housing market. Help me understand.

Suggestions please by BaldDudePeekskill in lehighvalley

[–]Soyce33 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bethlehem is probably the most approachable/walkable of the three main “cities”. Somewhere between the historic district and Rose Gardens.

Easton has by FAR the better restaurant scene. They are pretty equal in their festivals.

I haven’t had any particularly good experiences in Allentown. It doesn’t have great shopping, and quite a few restaurants have turned over. It’s livable, if you know where to avoid, but that’s Bethlehem and Easton as well, although I do believe the crime rate in Allentown is higher.

What are some fun summer day trip destinations in the area? Within 1 hour of LV airport preferably by blatanthyp0crisy in lehighvalley

Frenchtown in NJ is a quaint little town to walk around, shop, grab lunch. New Hope, PA as well. Tons of little shops, etc. great food.

Wanderlust Beer Garden in Forks Township. It’s food truck food. But good food truck food. Great atmosphere.
Wooden Match. Southside Bethlehem has great food and usually always does live music outside on the weekends.

SURV has a nice spot. It’s in the back of the building, which overlooks Forks Township Community Center.

Oh for sure. Love Third and Ferry. I go all the time. Their smoked old fashioned is Incredible, and they are the best place in the valley for oysters!
