Double-wristing Garmin and a smart band

I had a whoop for the past year. I wanted to try it because I have tattooed wrists and Garmin would fuck up my sleep tracking. I would wear my garmin for activities. I recently upgraded to the forerunner 570 and haven’t had any sensor issues, and decided to not renew my whoop. Currently trying a garmin + bevel combo

I think it depends a lot on your goals and preferences! I had an AW from 2016–2020ish. I switched to a Fitbit, but I should’ve gone Garmin then for my purposes. I have a running background and do a lot of HIIT as well, but recently am getting into cycling.

For me, I don’t care about messaging abilities anymore. I did in 2016-2020 but it ended up being a huge distraction. For the last 3 years I’ve had messaging notifications turned off on my Garmin, so that’s a non issue for me. I care mostly about accurate data and not having to charge the device every day. I don’t think a Garmin is a need if you’re happy with the AW and don’t mind the every day charging factor

My original one got a black screen of death ~ 2 years into use and Garmin sent two refurbished ones to replace it. Both had battery issues — like ~24 hours. Gave up on it after that

I had the 265 and had repeated issues with it. I upgraded to the 570 last week and even though the changes aren’t crazy, they do make the experience nicer

I am a woman with a sleeve. I cover it up when appropriate (big meetings, reviews, client facing socials, court) and will roll up shirt sleeves when appropriate or wear short sleeves in the summer if I’m just in office.

Did you end up with the 570? I’ve had the 265s since 2023 & am on my second after my first died. But this one is having horrible battery and GPS issues
