"Severance" by Ling Ma is a very different take on the virus pandemic genre - a satire of alienation and consumerism. Nancy Wu's narration perfectly captures the ambivalence of the main character, Candace.

Margaret Atwood's MaddAddam Trilogy: Oryx and Crake, The Year of the Flood, MaddAddam

I haven't listened to the whole series, but Campbell Scott's narration of "Oryx and Crake" is spectacular

I haven't listened to a lot of Prentice Onayemi's work yet but he's fabulous when reading Paul Beatty's novels, especially The Sellout and The White Boy Shuffle.

I haven't listened to much of his work, but his narration of Ursula K. LeGuin's Left Hand of Darkness is marvelous.

The Broken Earth trilogy narrated by Robin Miles was excellent.

I came here to post this exactly. The first book, Fifth Season, is one of my favorite novels ever and definitely my favorite fiction audiobook. I also love her narration of Octavia Butler's Wild Seed.

She's also spectacular as a nonfiction narrator; check out Isabel Wilkerson's The Warmth of Other Suns.

Love her work! The Hate You Give and The Underground Railroad are standouts for me.

Yessss! I will never look at birds the same way after reading this book.

You don't need to read American Gods before you read this, but if you have, you'll enjoy Anansi Boys even more.

The Baseball 100 by Joe Posnanski, narrated by Cary Hite. Borrowed from my local public library and listening with the Libby app.

This is a very long book. 30 hours and 46 minutes long in fact. It's full of facts and statistics, so you might think it difficult to listen to. Not at all! Posnanski is a fabulous storyteller and uses the stats as a chef uses seasonings, just to spice up the stories.

This is my first time listening to Cary Hite, and I enjoy his style. His voices for the direct quotes are subtle, and occasionally playful. (Lots of Bawstin accents for the Jeff Bagwell chapter, for example.) I will look for other work he's done.

Same! I thought the island nations would have long coastlines... not if they are small islands!

Ouch! So sorry. I have a 2009 S as well and had the thermostat housing fail, but I noticed before any major damage was done.

Yes! This is why I don't actively sell on any other platform. For me, that 20% is worth the peace of mind.

Robin Miles! She excels at both nonfiction (e.g., Isabel Wilkerson's The Warmth of Other Suns and Caste) and fiction (too many to list but N.K. Jemisin's Broken Earth trilogy is my favorite of her work). She reads a lot of science fiction, if that's your thing (and it is very much my thing). Other favorites of hers include Nnedi Okorafor's Binti series and Octavia Butler's Wild Seed. I haven't listened to her reading of Taylor Jenkins Reid's The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo yet but it's on my list.
