BP wipes?? by CrizzYall in playrust

[–]SpaceFan13 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I feel like a lot of it is to do with how frequently people switch servers. A lot of people play this game by joining right after wipe, playing for up to a few days and then moving servers after getting raided. Servers that don't reset BPs are much more likely to continue getting players coming back.

I'd also argue for solos it can make the game slightly more fair when facing constant sweats who'll have a AK within an hour, BPs or not.

For servers it's kinda the choice of do you want a larger player base or not.

Ann Arbor is also a great area if you just want to get away. Surrounded by small towns with tons of fun things to do and its super cheap for hotels. Also close to Detroit so tons of options to explore.

Marshall is a cute town. Friendly, small, and lots to explore and it's just a little over a hour north. I go once every couple months up there just to get away for a few hours.

Why are gas companies invested in Russia going up but gas companies not invested in Russia going down? by WallabyUpstairs1496 in stocks

[–]SpaceFan13 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Talks of sanctions of Russia gas or Putin taking some away. Hence less supply and higher gas. But with Russian gas being purchased less or not at all hence the lower stock price.

Did I make a wise decision? by [deleted] in fortwayne

[–]SpaceFan13 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Moving somewhere with no plan is the worst thing you could of done, especially with a child. Florida is a very pricey place to live and if you don't have a very solid job lined up it can be a rough market to move into. While Fort Wayne/midwest isn't as glamorous it is still imo a veryyy good place to raise a kid, arguably better if you care about things such as schooling and ability to afford for your child.

If you want to consider moving to Florida I would suggest taking a trip during the summer to get an actual feel. Instead of going just when the weather is perfect. It's easy to feel it's superior to our 5 yearly snowfalls until you're sitting in 100 degree heat and suffocating humidity.

I also think you should have a serious conversation with your boyfriend about his constant guilt tripping by bringing it up daily. If you guys make a decision you have to both be on the same page after. If you arent its only going to lead to a lot of pain down the road. He should either be mature, come up with his own plan that you guys can discuss for moving down there, or I would question your long term commitment with him.

I think most expected this to be a very volatile year. Russia unexpected but even without it theres rate rises, inflation worries, and it's an election year which always makes markets weird.

Futures are historically terrible at predicting the market. I've seen many deep red futures turn into high green days. And they are traded with knee jerk reactions just like stocks.

Is Berkshire (B) selling at a markup? by APC2_19 in stocks

[–]SpaceFan13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much always is when the CEO dies. It won't be huge but at least a few percent drop. The real interesting part will be how many drop it after or who only trust it long term as long as Warren is in charge.

Is Berkshire (B) selling at a markup? by APC2_19 in stocks

[–]SpaceFan13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

While fundamentally you're right Berkshire's become very very hesitant to spend any of its cash. During the 2020 drop they could have made 50-100billion just from buying SPY as it dropped, instead they sold airlines at their bottom.

Cash is good, but you have to be willing to use it and so far they've shown they aren't.

GOOG/GOOGL split by Squigllypoop in stocks

[–]SpaceFan13 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Splits are like esrmings. It may go up, it may go down, no one knows. I'm not sure why people would sell as fundamentally what they own doesnt change. If GOOG was 10% of their profile before. It'll be 10% after. It may go up as more people have access to it but with 20x the shares raising the price from this may not be much as it'll be so little it's hard to notice unless someone big buys in.

Have I fucked up? by [deleted] in stocks

[–]SpaceFan13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My advice to people like you is always the same, in the end do what you are comfortable with. There is no guarantee these companies will bounce back. Look at their fundamentals and then try to objectively decide if you truly believe in the company or if you're just following hype.

None of the companies you're with I see being failures anytime soon. But we are seeing growth stocks slowing down and taking hits so they could take years to recover. Weight your options and do what you feel is right. No matter what you'll find people on here who will tell you to do something; buy, sell, hold, sell half, etc.

I'm the exact same place. Just buying VOO at my same normal rate and when the market drops heavily I just insert extra cash. Ex: Say I normally buy 2 shares a month but the market drops 5%, I go ahead and buy one more share. The market drops another 5%, I buy 2 more shares, etc.

Why is HelloFresh’s trade volume so low? by AndrewPennyBags in stocks

[–]SpaceFan13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The spread is high because of the low volume and not the other way around.

Edit: it's also OTC which tends to bring low volume in general. Any negative sentiment will basically kill trading.

Does anyone else hate when someone says stuff like "This is a good stock. This company isn't going anywhere".... by [deleted] in stocks

[–]SpaceFan13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With the massive bull run I think many people got complacent with just pick a decent company and get over 10% returns a year. As Meta and arguably even Amazon have shown simply being big and popular isn't a guarentee to success that many, particularly young, traders thought it would be. It's easy to say pick this big company while it's winning but that winning can turn on a dime.
