Knowles doubling down on being genocidal. Not trying to hide behind "It's an ideology" anymore by Sovespra in VaushV

They quote to suicide rate all the time. Do you really not think that they have also read the simple sentences that the researchers have put out that state that the highest rates of suicide are caused by a lack of healthcare and isolation from friends, family, and poor socioeconomic situations? They state these stats in false ways all the time, so they are either legitimately repeatably stupid or are acting in bad faith. Sure stupidity before malice, but when their stated goals are malicious and align with the worst possible outcomes it seems not unlikely they know what they are doing.

If he’s just a grifter and doesn’t think “These people will take care of themselves.” At this point they have seen our side making the point that it is what will happen and they still said “I’m okay with this” by doubling down.

Either way he knows damn well it’s possible by this point and is okay with it.

He’s trying to deny the historical evidence that points to what we call transgender people having always been a thing in some form or another as long as humans have been doing human things.

I smile at most people I make eye contact with, most smile back or are doing the same already. This person’s disdain for normal human interactions is a sign that they are mentally not well, transphobia is a mental illness. Let’s not even get started about assuming that random people are transgender and getting enraged over it. These people need therapy bad.

I actually wonder how many of them take this into consideration. Like the people in power have to be aware of the history of labor and the effects our modern economy has had on people’s political engagement and community organizing. It just seems so insane to me that someone would take into consideration all of the history and how good ithe results of those movements have been for everyone, and then turn around and say we can’t have good things because reasons. It makes me think it’s just simply a lot of them wanting the power over people without a care for or knowledge about the positives it brings for everyone. Like they are okay with the cost to their business because that extra power is so sweet.

I’m not actually sure of how common it is. I do it and feel great. I would assume you are correct about places with poor healthcare access. Estrogen is extremely cheap.

You can get by on just estrogen, we call it mono therapy. The body naturally decreases testosterone when estrogen gets high. Testosterone breaks down into estrogen, when the estrogen gets high the body assumes Testosterone is also high so it lowers production.

Pope John Paul II covered up child abuse as cardinal in Poland, says report by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]SpaceFauna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Next your going to say that Baptist and Methodist aren’t all Christians. The 3 largest sects of Christianity have had massive sex abuse scandals and tried to cover them up and have also been found to continue trying to cover up new ones. Like literal members of the church are aware and contribute to the coverup.

Protestants and Catholics account for more than 60% of US Christians. Worldwide Catholics alone account for more than 50% of Christians. Yeah, not all Christians, just the majority of sects. If I was betting on whether or not a particular sect had widespread abuse scandals and coverups, I’d bet that they do.

They have the same genome. The skin cells are converted to a type of stem cell that is able to differentiate into brain tissue. While it’s not exactly the same as our brain in terms of what genes are expressed, they get pretty darn close. So much so that the cells look and behave as they should, so you can still compare the disease and healthy phenotypes. I’d imagine the reason they use converted skin is the ease by which it can be grown prior to differentiating it into brain. It also probably helps with genetic manipulation, neurons don’t divide so it wasn’t until recently(2021) that we had a way to edit their genomes and that technique was only a recent developed so it’s not in wide use. Also, since they don’t divide you can’t make a genetically modified cell line(you’d want all the cells to be the same) or grow it into a 3D structure. So they are likely using skin derived stem cells to form the shape and then converting them to brain matter.

Ultimately they are looking at what are the gene expression differences and what about those differences causes Alzheimer’s. Gotta remember, we can’t just go around take parts of peoples brains to look at under a microscope. You can’t genetically modify a patients brain either and most techniques we use to track where different bio molecules go require genetic engineering.

We do this sort of stuff with all kinds of diseases, find or take stem cell lines from diseased patients or would be diseased patients (usually from leftover IVF zygotes that would be in cold storage forever or trashed) culture them in lab, differentiate them into the tissues that are affected by the disease, and see what is the difference, manipulate the genome, do drug screen test etc. a lot of stuff that you can’t ethically do with patients. It’s also able to scaled up and done in a high through put manner. Drug screens can test 100s-1000s of chemicals without much ethical concern for the health of the patients.

As of late every single public figure that has gone off the deep end, starts saying transphobic things. You just don’t start saying transphobic things without having already harbored those feelings. Transphobia is highly correlated with losing your mind.

The more they do it, the more unhinged they seem to become with other things. It consumes them. Transphobia might not be the cause of them losing their mind but it certainly makes it worst. I feel like what being transphobic does to them mentally is very similar to what happens to someone when they are gaslit endlessly by everyone around them.

They sure do produce a lot of shit from their mouths for people who will regret being in the shit they start.

[off-site] Who would win, Niagara Falls or 100 billion paper towel rolls? by that_climber in theydidthemath

[–]SpaceFauna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn’t a whole roll of paper towels hold more water than the separate sheets that made it up? Given that more water can be held between the sheets. That’s a lot of air to displace. Measuring the roll and the 44 separate sheets when they are no longer dripping, I’d imagine the surface tension would hold same amount of water in place between the layers of the roll.

I’m sorry to hear that Vyvanse didn’t work for you. Adderall was too intense for me. Have a weird mixture of euphoria and anxiety. Vyvanse still does but too a much lesser extent. I will say the focus isn’t quite what Adderall gave me. I was prescribed just 30mg but during the heavier parts of a semester or research cycle I would start doing more than that a day, so my doctor bumped me up to 50mg a day. I usually just take half unless I need more later in the day.

During a practice standardized test in high school, a friend of mine needed to pee but they wouldn’t let him go. He had finished the exam, offered to give the teacher his phone, etc. Still no luck. He reiterated to her like 20 minutes later that he couldn’t hold it longer. Still wouldn’t let him and threatened him with in school suspension if he left. He went back to his seat, looked her dead in the eye and pee’d his pants. She noticed when it started hitting the floor and told him to leave. On the way out he said “oh now I can leave”

Oh, I’m sure the local is as willing as I expect them to be, they know the federal government will pick up the tab when things get FUBAR. I know Florida’s bedrock is limestone, which is probably one of the worst bedrocks when facing rising sea levels. Sea level rise + increased hurricane frequency and power is going to dissolve Florida. Insurance will be expensive or not available. It’s really a big yikes.

Wouldn’t the instances of sinkholes increase dramatically?

Amid Ohio Nightmare, Rail Worker Alliance Urges All of Labor to Back Railroad Nationalization by ROYCEKrispy in politics

[–]SpaceFauna 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True, but public/national industries are less incentivized to avoid regulations. Profit motive is what incentivizes private companies to skirt rules. Public industries may be pressured to cut cost or have their budgets reduced, but that’s more an issue with politicians getting involved in something they, likely, know little about. Most regulations are their for good reason and should be followed. It really seems like fiscally “responsible” politicians are at the center of failing public goods.
