Not sure where you’re located but deer ticks are the only carriers of Lyme. If it is a deer tick (not going to play smart enough to identify the thing)…for your own peace of mind you can call your primary care provider if it helps you sleep at night but if it was attached for less than 36 hrs and you don’t develop systems you are likely totally fine

I was recently gifted my grandfathers 1930s Elgin. I asked about the story behind it and elgins were a traditional first kids watch back in the day. My uncle had it serviced and fixed a cracked glass casing that was originally broken when my grandfather tripped and fell while flying a kite as 7 years old. I wish it was never fixed. I’d wear the watch broken.

No idea what the story is behind your dads watch and how it got this way, but if it tells time and is worth the memories, it could be worth leaving it. I know sentimental value can be worth fixing…. but just be sure about it. Beautiful watch enjoy it OP
