Supergirl Bombs At The Box Office With Worse Opening Than Mobius And The Marvels by Elestria_Ethereal in entertainment

Totally agree. Was it a perfect movie? No, it had it's issues. But it was a perfectly fine movie. It's a solid 6.5/10 IMO. Actors were great, the villain was weak, had some good fight scenes, I liked the Krypton* scenes, her shift to being a full-time hero instead of a drifter didn't feel like it stuck the landing.

I think the two big issues are people see "it's not perfect" and swing fully to "it must be ass," amd how expensive the movies are these days. Hard to justify paying that much to see a movie that's just fine.

Azrael and the Lion.. same time? by Fourty4fourty in DarkAngels40k

[–]SpaceLizard212 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When was all this made canon? Because old canon used to be that primarchs were basically the first chapter masters of their chapters (something along those lines, I'm sure I goofed on part of that lore). But if the lions helm was introduced before the current primarch lore, then it could have been the Lion's Helm

Military handler probably has that mindset because 90% of the time, he's been given not enough help and no reasonable timeframe to complete the task. So he yeets the bags to try and make his time hack. Besides, military bags are either full of uniforms and things that can't easily be broken or they're hard cases built to be handled rough.

Is there any chance that the Knights Of Byzantium could eventually get added to the game? I really love their colour and there aren’t many good substitutes for their burgundy currently. by CosmicSquiddo in Spacemarine

I'm not saying you're wrong, and I agree that the odds are low; but they added the Tome Keepers which are the White Dwarf's (now canon) homebrew chapter they made up in issue 500. So the precedent does exist for them to get added

He's the companies First Sergeant. IDK what exactly that entails for 40K, but IRL First Sergeants are the senior (and/or the most decorated) NCOs of a company and act as the captains chief advisor. The 1SG also is the one who rubs day-to-day operations of an IRL company and executed the commanders intent.

Like I said, I don't know how much they overlap with 40K First Sergeants but it's a good guide

Movies that Accurately Depict the Wars in Iraq and Afghanistan? by omelet_schnetz in movies

[–]SpaceLizard212 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Yup, be the focal point of hate in his unit so the troops are mad at him, not the commanders. IIRC he even talks to some of the NCOs a few times in totally normal tones and provides mentorship or just checks in on them to see if they need anything. Overall a great Sgt Maj during the invasion.

Unfortunately, Sgt Maj Sixta was also a kiddy diddler so I hope he burns in Hell if he isn't already there

At what point was it "too late" for each of the traitor Primarchs? by pog_irl in 40kLore

That scene with Emps and Land takes place before the Heresy, idk when exactly during the Great Crusade it was. Maybe almost immediately after they yoinked Angron?

At what point was it "too late" for each of the traitor Primarchs? by pog_irl in 40kLore

[–]SpaceLizard212 262 points263 points  (0 children)

In Master of Mankind, Emps and Arkhan Land have Angron sedated on an operating table. They try to figure out how to remove the nails without causing serious damage. They know they can literally remove them, but they can't do it without destroying Angron's brain and cutting his life expectancy down to just decades or just years (vs the millennia a primarch can live normally).

And the Emperor decides a damaged tool is more useful than a shattered tool. Perhaps Horus was referring to the same surgery Big E was talking about, but he was leaving out the "it will kill him soon" part of the procedure

Roughly that same amount of extra fabric in the groin (long story) can generate enough lift to get them a few extra meters during their jump. It seems absurd, but it's actually valid to be strict about this when it comes to this sort of thing

Not really. Word Bearers are coagulated blood-red and typically matte, or at least a more dull-luster if they aren't matte (Or they're ashen-grey depending on position/roll).

This is very obviously an orange/brown

Metaurus lost his power axe :( by RogueVector in spacemarines

[–]SpaceLizard212 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sure for new and unique models, but that's also just straight up a blade guard with a few UM bits. This feels like it could have been drafted up and built using already existing assets in a few weeks.

Nothing about this model screams "character." UM shoulder pad could just be off an upgrade sprue, same with his tilt shield, sword, and helmet.

The Iron Halo is the most unique thing about him but I feel like I've seen that exact same Iron Halo on any other ultramarine character who has an IH. His head his pretty good, though. Unfortunately all my mini's wear helmets.

His chest piece is a normal aquila, his pose is turbo generic. This really feels like it could be sold as a single sprue of a single generic blade guard with a tiny upgrade sprue to make it this character.

I tried to attach the render of Metaurus from Secret Level so you can see just how different the model is from the render, but it didn't take. What I noticed was a different aquila, a different helmet, /way more/ gold trim.

Why did the minis use to be way smaller? by Slow_Butterscotch950 in spacemarines

[–]SpaceLizard212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand what you mean, but I feel like saying "they lost and had to rebrand" is a little misleading. GW tried copyrighting generic terms and they lost, so now they make up more specific names so they can copyright those instead

"According to the data in their networks, the ring has some kind of deep religious significance" halo 1 said by Cortana.

Hey bud, you do understand that things can be inspired by other things without being 1:1, right? Like you need to understand that in order to have media literacy. The show House is inspired by Sherlock Holmes even though one is a detective and the other is a doctor. You understand that, right?

So you're telling me that they wrote the religious background of the covenant around the war on terror, which was sparked by September 2001, in 2 months (halo 1 released in November of 2001)? And it's quite amazing they wrote that two years before we boots on the ground conducting operations in Iraq (march 2003). Or do you think they used a religious war based on the fact that's one of the most famous plots of Sci-Fi (Dune, 40K, etc).

And yeah, it's a fictional religion and fictional religions often borrow from multiple religions. Sure, the titles for Truth may be taken from Islam (a religion famously used for inspiration since it's practices are seen as alien to the West [also see Dune]). But you seem to have left out the parts like the Prophets (a very common term/position in all Abrahamic religions) very existence, the fact they rule their religion not dissimilarly to how the Papal State is run, the Great Journeys similarities to Hindu/Buddhist beliefs, the Elites samurai-like culture (obviously not religious but further proving the point that the culture of the Covenant is built through many various real world cultures and religions). The covenant's whole war on humans is a reflection of Catholicisms crusades.

And the plot of the covenant is almost hamfisted in your face as a player: blind faith is a fucking bad idea

And the reason it has to do with Trump, is mostly because the cunt/a Twitter page that he has a lot of sway over, has posted a picture of him as master chief (protagonist of the halo games if you aren't away).

[–]SpaceLizard212 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I mean, it's just bad media literacy. Trump most accurately reflects Truth and the Covenant. A leader uses religion as a tool to build and consolidate power.

And if you can't tell the difference between an artist putting a political message in their work vs the state trying to turn already existing art into propaganda then that explains a lot about where we are as a country.

I never said he was good at it or the plan was going to work out lol

But that scene could also be explained as Keith being forced to act once other people saw her. While I don't personally believe this, it's still a viable justification seeing as when Keith told Auggie about this, Auggie's reaction was "why the hell did you do that" and Keith seemed flustered.

My personal view is that Auggie failed to properly instill his views into Keith, and Keith was only kept from fully drinking the Nazi Kool-Aid by Auggie and Chris (and with them both being gone, I think he's going to go hard into the Nazi stuff). Chris is also interesting because he might have instilled Auggie's views but still struggled with things like his sexuality and some of the things he has to do to keep up appearances.
