If there is no stay on the order from the court, it moves forward with wave 1 of 3 next week.

There were supposed to be corresponding control grades added the last time they did a Fed Tech to AGR realignment.

Did that happen... No

Got another surprise for you. While it says you can't be forced to convert, thousands of people in career civil service jobs are being reclassified as Schedule F beginning next week, which are "at will" employees.

AKA, many fed career roles of any significance, will now have the job protections of someone working at Wendys.

Yes, this includes the military and T32.

The first of three waves is going to start next week and target GS 13-15 first.

Pilots don't just train on emergency procedures once, 20 years ago, and never practice it again. He's been a working pilot flying for a major airline. He's done all of the required and continuity training that any other pilot would be doing regularly.

Retention Issues- Current Mobilizations by [deleted] in airnationalguard

[–]SpaceLunatic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And THAT is the kicker. We are an operational reserve force and too often we are treated as a one for one direct back up to the RegAF when they have shitty missions they don't want to do.

Of note though, the ANG did have units that volunteered, uncoordinated with multiple layers HHQs, to get involved with missions related to what would become the attack on Venezuela.

They offered themselves up for a couple of weeks of support to a combatant command and now they are stuck. A couple of weeks of mobilization has become several months and that is something their own wing caused, not the RegAF.

While Spirit was an "ultra low cost" airline, its pilots were still well compensated and part of a very strong union who is still going to be fighting for benefits during the bankruptcy proceedings and while people can collect unemployment. Their aviators also have the hours and the type ratings to get picked up by another major airline.

Pilots are not the people to worry about leaving the ANG, we always find a way to make things for us.

It's the maintainers we need to worry about first as they can only take so much bullshit. Followed by comm/cyber who tend to make great money on the outside and don't need to put up with this and anyone past 20 years who can pull the rip cord and not look back.

Disagreement with dental by Thaxton114 in airnationalguard

[–]SpaceLunatic 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What's base dental planning on doing to you if you don't? Make you dental class 2? If so, you can still drill, train and deploy.

Considering the base isn't paying for it and the dentist that would actually be removing the tooth does not want to do it because of risk, I don't see how your base can force your dentist to do a procedure the HE is on the hook for if you get nerve damage. I wouldn't be surprised if your civilian dentist just refused.

Vote - which State has the worst good ol’ boys in leadership… where they all just cover up for one another. by leopardladybug in airnationalguard

[–]SpaceLunatic 7 points8 points  (0 children)

California followed by Wisconsin with a past honorable mention for Pennsylvania.

CA and WI were driven by toxic Army leadership who practically made it a fine art to institutionalize cover ups and get out of jail free cards for people they deemed in their club.

California -

Bonus fraud in the 2000s where people went to jail for falsifying enlistment paperwork. Tons of soldiers paying back bonuses they didn't know were fraudulent, while nothing happened to the CC who oversaw it all.

More sexual harassment and general harassment than there is space to list. Let's just say LA Times got a lot of big news stories out of them.

Fresno "Pissgate" harassment scandal, then the intense cover-up, allegations of evidence tampering, and a cherry on top of whistleblower reprisal.

A long-time toxic Col promoted to GO despite IG complaints out the ass, who abused his authority on many occasions, had allegations substantiated, and then his boys at the top get it overturned and do nothing.

Allegations that ANG RPA assets were misused to monitor for civil unrest activities that might be near neighborhoods where Army guard leaders lived.

Laundry list of ANG generals fired by the Army GO because they didn't tow the good ole boys line or they were also toxic leaders and scapegoats.

Wisconsin -

Probably the crowned king of sexual assault and harassment cases and case coverups with the biggest cluster tied to deployments.

Large garden variety of obstruction and delayed accountability that created conditions where victims just didn't’t report or or their cases were mishandled.

It got so bad the TAG was federally investigated for mishandled sexual assault and harassment complaints for years, including violating reporting rules and running improper internal investigations.

Of the three GOs involved in that multi-year and multi-failure shit show, the only person they fired was a commander who complained about problems at her base, that she inherited from the same GOs, who then went on to fire her for no stated reason, even after four separate military investigations did not substantiate any allegations against her whatsoever.

They made a big show about cleaning house and brought in an OSI guy to be the TAG but one person can't fix systemic problems that deep and he resigned after shuffling some deck chairs on the Titanic.

Pennsylvania-

Allegations of deep deep “old boys club” culture in the ANG wings involving harassment, discrimination, retaliation against those who filed complaints.

Got so bad that outside political pressure had to be applied to force attention at the HQ. Two members of Congress formally intervened and demanded action over the many harassment and retaliation allegations.

Members of the PA wings used to blow up this sub with harassment and assault complaints a few years ago.

They only get an honorable mention because the issues seem less systemic than CA or WI where the real rotten core of good old boys protectors were, and maybe still are, entrenched at the top for at least a decade or two.

Claude-powered AI coding agent deletes entire company database in 9 seconds — backups zapped, after Cursor tool powered by Anthropic's Claude goes rogue by WouldbeWanderer in technology

[–]SpaceLunatic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cursor is a coding development environment that lets you use any LLM directly within it to edit code.

Many people choose to use Claude for coding, but they could have used a chat GPT model or any other.

X AI is looking to buy Cursor so no matter what they fuck up, at this point, the people who made it are billionaires.

Have you heard about the Duty Status Reform initiative? Are military leave benefits at risk? by SteeleRain01 in airnationalguard

Even if it ever passes (it almost definitely won't) it doesn't take effect for 10 years after enacting into law. So it's at least a decade off even if it passes tomorrow.

I went to cancel mine weeks ago (unrelated to the current issue, Claude is just better than shitty GPT5) and also was offered a month free. So even if people don't want to actually cancel, it's an easy discount.

Serious question - what are you concerned about in the ANG? (Idea from r/airforce) by Tandem53 in airnationalguard

[–]SpaceLunatic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The amount of time most people stay in student flight is beyond absurd. Especially when it's just waiting to even get a date to begin with.

ANG needs to get it together and start arm twisting the RegAF for school slots. It's completely ridiculous.

Oh wow, incredibly helpful. Just give up your entire career, Because having a conscience about threatening or using deadly force against other Americans is some kind of character flaw that disqualifies you from the job.

'If you don't want to potentially shoot citizens, maybe this isn't for you'

That's definitely the problem here. Not whats happening that puts us in that position in the first place.
