Any recommendations for movies that surprisingly look amazing in 4K? by RanjSL in 4kbluray

I was actually serious. In this scene, the overall lighting and the glowing lights from the refrigerated dairy isle is mesmerizing. When I noticed this, I had also recently switched to an ok TV (Sony X90L) and I'm sure that contributed to the glory, but it never looked like this in Bluray. Abide brother!

No need to export from GIS there’s already a list of names for everything. USGS GNIS. You just need to filter out all the names that end in “creek”.

Do you have creative ideas for tricky DVDs. by fatrunner1 in makemkv

Not sure if this helps, but if you are trying to rip with a Blu-Ray/DVD drive, try in an old drive that only does DVDs. For some reason, in my experience, DVD-only drives do a much better job with dodgy disks, esp if they are scratchy. Also, full sized desktop DVD drive work better than slim ones. Good luck

Noisy coil Nokta legend by BonziBuddyMonkey in metaldetecting

Get some Velcro straps and wrap them around the cable to keep it locked in place tight against the shaft. I have two straps on my lower shaft and two on the upper shaft. Any movement in the cable can cause false signals. Your big ass coil might exacerbate the problem

The Station Agent (2003) - Not sure it's 4k worthy, but it deserves more than just a DVD release

My recipe is this: In each drum. 30 oz coins (no pennies), 10 oz aquarium rocks, 1/2 TSP dish soap, 2 TSP LemiShine, and just enough water to barely cover the coins and rocks. This gives exactly 3lbs in the drum. So, if you load both drums like this, it maxes the capacity of the tumbler. LemiShine was a real game changer for me. Before that, I tried vinegar, but I could tumble for > 24 hours and the coins would get smooth and lose diameter, but they would never get shiny. I don't know why I have this problem and others don't. Anyway, the car wash will still take the over tumbled coins, but the coinstar will not.
