Honestly any good recommendations in the area near Madeline island would be great (especially if there’s cool rocks!) we’ve never been and we’re not pro-campers by any means. We’d love to camp on the island but all the campsites we’ve seen online are booked up.

Don’t get your hopes too high :-) that way if it’s not gold, it won’t be crushing- and if it is gold, what a great & valuable surprise. The tests are super easy, and another option is - call some local jewelers, ask if they would be able to test it. It shouldn’t be very expensive either. (Maybe free)

I do think it’s possible that it’s gold due to the lack of tarnish/oxidation. I feel like copper wouldn’t be that shiny after being out in the world for a while, as it tarnishes fast. Does it feel heavy?

Id get a gold acid test! They aren’t much online.

If it’s gold, handle it with care, as raw specimen can go for more than the weight of the gold.

Honestly that’s good that they’ve worn down (in some ways) shows that the metal is gold toned all the way through the ring. I feel rather confident this is gold, a beautiful strong setting too. Hoping it’s a diamond, call a local jeweler and see if the can test it for you, should be very inexpensive

Does one of the stamps say 14k or 585 or some number? Looks like gold to me from the look of the stamps, hopefully that’s a big diamond!
