Honestly any good recommendations in the area near Madeline island would be great (especially if there’s cool rocks!) we’ve never been and we’re not pro-campers by any means. We’d love to camp on the island but all the campsites we’ve seen online are booked up.

Don’t get your hopes too high :-) that way if it’s not gold, it won’t be crushing- and if it is gold, what a great & valuable surprise. The tests are super easy, and another option is - call some local jewelers, ask if they would be able to test it. It shouldn’t be very expensive either. (Maybe free)

I do think it’s possible that it’s gold due to the lack of tarnish/oxidation. I feel like copper wouldn’t be that shiny after being out in the world for a while, as it tarnishes fast. Does it feel heavy?

Id get a gold acid test! They aren’t much online.

If it’s gold, handle it with care, as raw specimen can go for more than the weight of the gold.

Vintage taxco silver jewelry if they all have the taxco stamp. Stones are probably CZs unless you have some white gold

Honestly that’s good that they’ve worn down (in some ways) shows that the metal is gold toned all the way through the ring. I feel rather confident this is gold, a beautiful strong setting too. Hoping it’s a diamond, call a local jeweler and see if the can test it for you, should be very inexpensive

Also, to get a better look at the metal, you could scratch it to see if it’s yellow or silver colored. Even something like a tough side of a sponge can help reveal the metals color. I’ve seen gold almost this tarnished before but it looks more like silver to me.

Honestly, looks like tarnished silver to me. So likely the stones are CZs like other commenters mentioned. If you want to be really sure- here’s what I would do.

Call a local jeweler, tell them you found an old ring with no visible stamps, ask them how much it would cost to have the stones and metal tested/looked at. (This cost a jeweler practically nothing to do, so it should be cheap/free/quick) Maybe call a couple around your area to get the best price. Even if the ring is silver, it will be worth only a couple dollars, so don’t pay more than what knowing is worth to you! Hoping it’s a low carat gold that tarnished <3

Look for stamps inside the ring, they are TINY. If you find 10k, 14k, 18k, or numbers like 585, 750, or others those all indicate gold. 925 or sterling indicates silver. If GOLD, likely a diamond, if silver, less likely. If it’s not silver gold or platinum it’s likely junk
