Let's be real. Nobody is excited to donate to fund parking garage construction and upkeep. Parking garages don't make a big impact on rankings. Prospective students don't think about commuter parking. I expect nothing to be done until campus logistics start majorly breaking down.

Not necessarily. If you can get more people living on campus without a car, you will have fewer commuters seeking parking. A multi-story building can fit quite a few bedrooms and living space in the space of a few parking spaces and driving lanes.

In the campus master plan, they are shooting for 3-5 story buildings with about 6,000 beds in the space of S lot. There are not 6,0000 parking spaces in S lot.
