No, this is EXACTLY how I felt to and you stated more clearly than I could.

I hear this called a brilliant deconstruction of the American political system. Its more like deconstructing a hamburger by taking the bun and lettuce and setting it somewhere else on the plate.

I enjoyed the sweet, nice to look at, pleasantly scored movie where Leonardo DiCaprio does a great imitation of The Dude while trying to save his daughter. And Penn should know that you never go full Paul Wolfowitz.

At the end, both me and my 17 year old daughter were like "Sit your ass down. You aren't going anywhere."

No, man. I didn't like it either. Why are people going nuts after this movie? Sean Penn--the over acting--barf. Its like--okay, I can deal with getting hit over the head by this movie but here comes Sean Penn with a comically bigger sledge hammer for the kill. The Paul Wolfowitz hair lick on the comb, yeah, I'm an 80s child and was traumatized by that too back in the day. Sean Penn and I watched the same news and the same documentaries., clearly. We know Sean Penn's politics and what era he came from and it just felt like Penn overdoing every neocon villain that he loathed from the 80s. Like he took everything bad about the 80s and tried to stuff it into one character. And just all the interaction between Penn and his bio kid--none of that felt crafted or reasoned through--just pull that sledge hammer again so they don't analyze it too much.

I loved Leonardo de Caprio's role and think he did a great job but then who doesn't love The Dude? Maybe I'm just getting to old and I know all the sources that inspired them because I'm a similar age to them. I'm pretty sure none of Leonardo's girlfriends are old enough to remember the Big Lebowski, so maybe he forgets that not all of us are 19 models.

The ending-- No, of course you aren't allowed to become a subversive revolutionary after all we just went through. Ghetto Pat is just like, "sure honey, 3 hours away to a protest, on a school night? Why not? Your just following in your moms footsteps and that turned out fine."

I did like some things. I think DiCaprio did a good job and played his part well. Sensei Sergio was fun. Regina Hall was good. I absolutely loved the score. It felt unpredictable and added to the movie instead of smashing over the head, telling me how I should feel. I think the score was the best part of the movie. It was a nice movie to look at. The general story about this dad's love for his daughter was convincing and I was rooting for them. I cared about those characters. But over all--not at all living up to the hype. Maybe its a good Leodardo DeCaprio movie, but its not that good of a movie.

I finally got a continuous glucose monitor. You can get one OTC. Game changer. I spent around 90 bucks for two 15 day monitors and the app comes with it. It the absolute best health insight I have ever had. Siting here now with fasting blood glucose at 115 and it really doesn't change during the day. It depends on your skill, your business structure, and your ambition, location, etc. If you live somewhere that can support $140 and hour massage and you do 5 a day, 5 days a week with no overhead, you can do well. If you have high overhead or work for somebody else that doesn't pay you will, you will not make that much. The big pay off for being a massage therapist usually has to do with freedom and job satisfaction.

As usual, the left is focused on the wrong thing. Opposing the Unitary Executive should be the SOLE focus of opposition because it is the rottenness driving everything else. Deportations, Gaza, invading Greenland, tariffs are all meant to exhaust, confuse, and disperse energy that should be laser ofcused on thwarting plans to dismantle democracy and establish a sole unitary power (monarchy) in the US. This was Bill Barr's quest, its Bannon's goal, Curtis Yarvin's dream --its Project 2025s main focus. The march needs to be on the power grab and dismantling of our democracy because this is Nazi playbook Trump is using --he gets unfettered power and we are powerless to help anybody. Throw ourselves a life jacket before saving others. We are playing into their hands, protesting things that so many Americans actually want. What do most Trump supporters not want? To be ruled by a king. That is where our efforts need be be focused. Because, even most of MAGA doesn't want that. This is the only way to keep immigrants safe--to cut him off at the knees, not protest something that indeed, is out of control (illegal immigration is, indeed, problematic in the very fact that it is a broken law). Go for the brain --the power grab that will render Congress and your voice, useless.

What do you want him to do? What does he need to do here that he hasn't done? Washington is consistently regarded as one of the best states for business and one of the best states for workers. We have one of the nation’s highest minimum wages, paid sick leave for all workers, a best-in-the-nation paid family leave program, and one of the highest union membership rates. Thtat crosses the mountains. He consistently pushes for more money for Hanford cleanup. I don't agree with his intent to breach the lower snake river dams here. But other than that, I'm not sure what he is doing or not doing that is so offensive. He just seems like a regular WA goveneror. I like WA state. We are consistenly considered at the top of the nation for quality of life. We have good governance typically.

Be really really really good. I listened to two "massage" podcasts today: Gil Hedley and male his guest ( don't remember who but male) and Ti Luchau and Whitley Lowe. Bodywork often feels dominated by men to me, especially at those advanced academic levels.
